I am looking into getting one of these products to help motivate me to up my physical activity, monitor my sleep and keep track of the food I consume. Anyone have any experience and/or opinions with any of these? I am leaning towards the Fitbit Flex...?

I use a Fitbit one in conjunction with My Fitness Plan. It is pretty cool though I have been unmotivated lately. The really valuable thing for me is to be honest with myself and record everything - the trends are very interest. Best wishes for great success!!

I use the Fitbit Flex only for step counting and it has been huge in my weight loss. For food I cut out all sweets, ate moderately less, drank tons of water and no soda, and walked my 7500 steps a day. So far I have kept the 50 pounds I lost off for six months. I don't think it matters which device you use to count steps as long as you use it as a tool to analyze your activity. I hadn't realized what sitting in front of the computer was doing to me! I wish you well in your efforts! You can do this! I never believed I could lose weight because my weight steadily crept up through the years. When the MO told me my extra pounds contained estrogen to feed cancer cells, I found the motivation to lose. I'd like to lose another 10 pounds and plan to push for that this summer

Beatmom - if I were you I would google that question, then look at what your options are.  I use Amazon to check out how items are working for people who purchase things.  I've saved a lot that way!  Good luck!

Beatmon, check out the Misfit Shine if you are looking for a fitness tracker that is water proof. I have one and I've used it for water running. If you wear it on your wrist it should track the movement of your arms going back and forth. I'm pretty happy with mine.

Check the packaging - if it says 'water resistant', it's NOT waterproof. I have the Fitbit Charge HR and it is NOT waterproof. But I love it
