I was diagnosed with cancer stage IIB about 6 weeks ago. I have had a radical mastectomy on my left and a mastectomy on my right. I am experiencing stomach swelling now. I just met with my oncologist who seems dismissive of anything I say so I am not sure about bringing it up to her. Has anyone else experienced this?

Kelly, I am sorry you are going thru this but I am so glad you found this website! I am worried that you say you are unsure of bringing it up with your oncologist......If you are hesitant to bring anything up with your oncologist you should find a new one. If you stay with her because there is no one else in your area or for insurance reasons, or whatever makes you stay with a doctor you cannot talk to, then please please do try to tell her how you are feeling, She works for you and she has to be someone you can tell anything. I have not had the stomach swelling you describe, perhaps someone else has and they will respond soon. I would call the office and tell the nurse and go from there. I hope you are feeling better soon, and hugs to you

When was your surgery? After my surgery I had a very swollen tummy for almost 3 weeks. I felt pregnant honestly. I drank lots of water and used Miralax daily. I ate very little at each meal. I ate mostly fruit. It did eventually go back to normal. Anesthesia does strange things to your body!

Thanks for the feedback. My surgery was three weeks ago. I will try the things suggested and hope this helps. It's nice to know that others have experienced similar symptoms.
