Is this neuropathy? Tingly fingers before chemo
So I had a SNB during my lumpectomy and maybe three or four weeks later my pinky on that same side started getting numb and tingly. It comes and goes randomly, sometimes I also think I feel it in my forearm as well. I asked the surgeon when I went to go talk to him about my port and he said it can't be from the SNB bc it's diff nerves. But I'm not so sure? He didn't really say what it could be though.
Any thoughts? I'm going to bring it up to my MO when I see her but just wanted to see if anyone else had this happen to them. Thanks!

Ulnar nerve controls the pinky. You may be experiencing ulnar nerve neuropathy from ulnar nerve entrapment especially since you have pain in the forearm. The most common sites for entrapment are at the elbow or wrist. It's very similar to carpal tunnel just more rare. Physical theraphist may help you find out what is causing the numbness. It is not related to BC or BC surgery. I have to do ulnar nerve flossing excercises for my condition.

Thank you, inks! Time to go google ulnar nerve
** edited to add....
I just googled and this sounds pretty much exactly like what I have. Found this video on exercises to do and I tried them quickly, already got feeling back in my fingers a bit.

I never even had Chemo and have numbness on top of my index finger on my right hand, my thumb on my left hand and the top of might right foot. The only thing I can think of is some kind of reaction to some medication. It's freaking me out a bit and will have to mention it to my Doctor next time I am there.

StefLove - if your fingers get painful go see a doctor, they can send you to nerve conductivity test to see where the nerve is pinched. If it becomes really bothersome you can have surgery. You can also wear braces/wrist supports at night.
fizzdon52 - You could see a physical therapist, maybe it's carpal tunnel. But it's weird that your symptoms are different on right and left hand, and the foot numbness would be a different nerve altogether.

thanks, inks. I'll def tell my MO next time I see her which I'm assuming will be this week since I start chemo Thursday. Haven't had any tingles today but I'll do the exercises again later this evening.
