The CTA was negative for embolisms, but the lower lobes of my lungs have collapsed (its mild, but enough to cause the shortness of breath) and they should rebound. Bone scan was today, won't have the results until tomorrow.

Thanks for all the positive vibes :)

    Congrats Bosco!

I have a Pet/CT scan tomorrow morning. This will be my first Pet scan (I've had Bone and CT scans up until now), so I'm also fretting about all the extra pre-scan precautions (low-carb diet, no strenuous activity, etc). I was very careful about what I ate today, but hope I didn't get carried away with cleaning out closets, etc - my son and his girlfriend are visiting from Virginia next week!). This will be two years Stage IV - so far it's been stable, but I still worry and notice every little pain lately. At least my DS's visit will distract me somewhat from waiting on the results!

I've not been keeping up with this thread lately, but I hope folks have been getting good results (and send hugs and love to those with not so good results). My thoughts and prayers are with all of you who have scans coming up or are still waiting on results!

Great news Bosco and Blondedoris! So happy for you both!

Terri-c, thank God for no embolisms and best of luck with bone scan results tomorrow!

AmyJM, sending positive thoughts for your pet scan tomorrow. Stable is a great place to be and long may it continue.

    Hugs to all, Annie

Chris, holding your hand while you wait and sending positive thoughts and healing energy your way! I hope the pain settles for you, and you can relax a little this weekend.

My bone scan results are in. My onc said it shows improvement and lesions are less pronounced, also no new areas which I am grateful for. I just wish they would disappear, for all of us!

Terri-c,  did you get your results?

    Hugs, Annie

Annie - that's excellent news!  It calls for a celebration.

Wishing all of us to have good results.

Linda and MusicLover, thank you. It's terrible that as quickly as you get the relief from your results the anxiety already starts to build thinking about the next scan. Have to take the positives and pray for continued improvement.

Hugs to all who are waiting for results, Annie

Holding your hand also Chris. I hate when it spills over the weekend.

My bone scan results - increased uptake in the T7 vertebrae. I'm waiting through the weekend with Chris.

I'm there with you gals. Waiting on results of 3rd biopsy!!! Didn't get enough tissue in first and second biopsy to get full pathology. This is taking so much longer than I expected. Had first CT scan on March 30. Confirmed something in sternum April1. I've had 2 CT Scans, 1 Bone Scan, 1 PET scan, 3 biopsies in the past 6 weeks.

Waiting with you Chris. My results are tomorrow. It is a long weekend when results are pending. They needed extra pictures. Last two times that happened, it was bad news. Major scanxiety. Sleep just not happening, but grandkids slept over so I will be busy tomorroe until results at 2:40 appointment (switched me to last appointment of the day - also only happened before when onc assumed bad news coming). Arg...

Chanah...I hope those things that cause us the most worry...(more pix, changed appt) are just flukes. It happened to me too, changed to last appt of day & onc still 1 hour late...I knew they wanted the office cleared for my breakdown...I cried when onc walked in & she was totally perplexed that I was crying & said stable. Ugh...hate it all. Glad your grandkids took your mind to a happy place...mine do too!

Happy news, Annie!!! Agreed....wishing, praying for good news for all.

Chanah thinking of you and hoping for good scans for you, to wait over the weekend is the worst. You are amazing to take the grandkids too, busy is good but how you do it I do not know.

    Happy Mothers Day!

Chanah - I too hope that the extra pictures and changed appt times mean nothing and that your results are good. Either way, I'll be thinking of you and sending prayers your way.

Northtexas - That's so much to go through! I hope they have what they need now and won't have to do anymore tests for awhile! Sending prayers and hugs your way.

Chris - sending hugs and love and keeping you in my prayers. By the time you see this, you won't have much longer to wait - I hope the results are good!

Terri-C - It sounds like mixed news for you - I'm so glad there were no embolisms, but am sorry to hear about your collapsed lungs and the increased uptake. I hope both things are mild enough that they can be dealt with and resolved quickly (or at least kept in check!).

Annie - I'm so happy to hear your good news! Even if they haven't disappeared, stable is a very good thing! I'm hoping mine will be as good - that's usually what mine is like - not a lot of change, but no progression so far either.

I probably won't get results from my pet/ct scan until mid-week or the end of the week. At least I'll have lots of distractions - it's the last week of preschool and we have end of year picnics two nights this week, plus my son and his girlfriend are going to be visiting from Virginia! We haven't seen them since Christmas! I can't wait to see them tomorrow! I'm sure I'll still be on pins and needles though.

Sending thoughts and prayers to all who are waiting and anyone else I may have missed.

Love and hugs to all, Amy

RonnieKay and AmyJM,  thank you! I am happy there was no progression but I think I expected  more regression with the Cyberknife and Stereotactic radiation treatments I had. Maybe it just takes time and I have to be patient.

Terric-c, is the T7 a new area or a spot that was there before with increased uptake?

Chanah, AmyJM and Chris, sending positive thoughts to all of you as you wait and praying for good results.

    Hugs to all, Annie

Amy...ahhhh, little people are so good for the soul...as well as a break for summer! Enjoy your DS & GF...long time to be away. Hoping for good results!

Annie...I know the feeling of hoping for even better results. My first scan of liver after 5 mos on chemo showed 80% reduction...everyone was thrilled...and me, sad. The next scan 3 mos later, 30% more reduction...at which time she said stable. So...I'm betting on even better scans next time!

Chris...sorry you had to wait it our iced the weekend...just doesn't seem right. Thinking if you

Annie, the T7 is my biggest tumor, it has taken over most of the vertebrae. It has grown a little bit, has spread into the pedicules. Doc wants to just keep an eye on it for now, since it is the only one that is showing any growth (I have 12 or 13 tumors total - there is one in the adrenal gland that they don't know if it is a tumor or not).

Prayers to all playing the waiting game.

Scans for me on May 20th. I'll have a brain mri and a full body ct. Luckily, I'll have the results that day so there is no waiting on the back end, just the front! I am working full time, which is a nice distraction. With two small kids on top of that, I don't have time to worry!

Just popping in to give my best to everyone waiting for results. Best wishes to you all.

    Annie- Yay for improvement!

Terri – Is the T7 causing you any pain? Would they consider radiation since it is the only one growing?

Chris- Sorry to hear you are suffering with so much pain. Hopefully they can find medication that works for you. Maybe you just need to change it up a bit.

Chanah – Hoping for a good outcome. Please let us know.

Terri-c, I second what Shutterbug73 said about radiation. It helped me a great deal. I had a tumor in my humerus that almost required surgery. 3 months after rads the bone completely filled in. Sending you positive thoughts and best wishes.

Leftrightrepeat, wishing for great results on the 20th. Please keep us posted. How great to get the results the same day, the waiting is the hardest part.

Chanah, hope you're results were good! Thinking of you.

    Hugs to all, Annie

I had the T7 radiated last year and the damage to my esophagus was extensive. I couldn't eat for a couple of weeks. I'm not sure I want to go that route again. I am still working full time, and am trying to keep working for as long as I can. Another round of radiation would knock me down at this point. I'm not in the same shape as I was a year ago, the meds have taken a toll on my body.

Chris1959 - How are you feeling? Did you get your results? My mother had been feeling terrible pain as you described and it lasted around 10 days. She had a scan in the meantime and it was stable. The pain hasn't come back. Hoping yours gets better wishing you good scans. Hugs

Terri-c, I can totally understand you not wanting to do rads again after suffering extensive damage to your esophagus. I had my sternum radiated and it affected my esophagus as well, almost choked to death one night in my sleep, scariest thing ever! My esophagus was burning and it would go into spasm and cause acid to creep up, it was awful. And I hear you about the meds taking a toll on your body. I wouldn't be able to work so I commend you on that, it must be hard. Wishing you the best, Annie

    hi Everyone,

Sooo...I have a funny scan story to share...I had a bone scan recently (I don't get that anxious about that one- everything stable). I live in Toronto and was also planning on going down to Atlanta to visit my 91 yr old mother. So the day after my scan I happily showed up at the airport, went through all the checkpoints and then got to the Border Guard check in. I actually had a good guy and we were chatting, when another guard walked past me and his gieger counter goes off! My guy looks up and then his goes off and then 2 or 3 more around us went off. I am totally clueless as to what is going on, but they are all looking at me! He finally says,"have you had any tests recently?" And then then I realize- I just had a Nuclear Medicine Scan! I am radioactive! I got pulled back I to the "room", I had no documentation about the scan except luckily I had my appointment card...they let me go with a warning, but after using the C Card- he kindly said as I left, "I hope you get some super powers with all that your doing!" That made me laugh.

So now I will get paperwork in the future and I thought you might enjoy a small laugh today too! Btw Georgia was lovely, my mom is awesome!

    Have lovely days!

    Maureen
