I agree that it just can't be easily pinpointed. I grew up eating a ton of organic food my mom grew herself. I've always been a healthy weight, exercised regularly since I was a teen, ate very well, didn't smoke, drank moderately. I don't have a family history of cancer, I had my first child at 26, and I breastfed my two kids over a year each. I'm a pretty calm person in general, too. I do, however, have an autoimmune disease and EXTREMELY dense breasts. Who knows which combination of factors caused me to get it? I admit my first thought when I was diagnosed was that I had brought my (very healthy, homemade) lunches to work nearly every day for about 15 years and heated them up in plastic containers in the microwave. Did that contribute? No idea, and it's pointless to worry about it now.

Many people have been posting and saying that they take Iron supplements. I am also anemic because of fibroids and heavy monthly bleeding but I have read numerous articles saying that Iron is actually the cause of many organ failures and can cause cancer. Be very careful with the supplements as I read that Iron really fuels BreastCancer.

It is better to get iron from food and not supplements.

I used to take supplements and I am absolutely sure that it really put my tumor in overdrive. Thank you everyone for your input.

i agree with someone who said, the common denomiantor is being a woman, and you will drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out. right now you need as less stress as possible to get thru this, and take it from me, a 21 yr Survivor(Praise GOD) i kept Positive, and keeping HOPE in my mind got me thru, Faith is the Light that got me thru.   msphil(idc,stage2, 0/3 nodes, chemo and rads and 5 yrs on tamoxifen)
