I just came from PT and he mentioned that radiation can make cording worse and he said that I was lucky that mine was on the prophylactic side. So maybe you had it all along but it got worse during the rads. Just keep stretching that arm.

I had it too and I do think it got worse during rads. It's getting better now though.

I had it too. Stretching in a hot shower made it easier - keep up the stretches.

I had surgery 4/6 and just came from PT who said I had cording. I think it is only one all the way to my wrist. I start Rads and about 2 weeks. The therapist thought we could get it fixed up before Rads.

If you are good about doing the stretches twice a day you should not have issues getting the cording gone before 2 weeks. I saw some results in 2 days.

I had minor cording after lumpectomy that had started to resolve and then got worse with radiation. I went to a lymphedema certified PT and she did weekly massage and release. It took appx. 8-10 weeks after rads for it to go away. The good news is that the cord worked its way down my arm to my hand and now has totally disappeared. I definitely recommend going to a PT to help you out with it. Best of luck!
