I look for other flat chested women. A rant.

Is it cheating if I purchased lovely silicone breast forms? Last weekend I helped a colleague with a wedding in Grand Cayman. I walked around very flat in sundresses, tank tops, swim suit etc and felt very self-conscious. Of course I know no one is "checking" me out but today I went to a mastectomy store and was fitted for these very nice forms. They actually feel good against my skin and have a bit of a dip in all the right places so look very real. Just wondering if any of you use forms.
Thanks
Amy

Amy you do what feels good. Most of the time I'm flat and don't feel self conscious in fitted clothes. I don't have to try to prove to myself that I'm feminine by having painful plastic surgery. On the other hand I have favorite clothes that don't drape well with a flat chest. So I have silicone foobs for those as they hug my chest well and feel great. I have aqua flow beaded ones for a favorite swimsuit that has a bra, but also have speedo suits that are flat. I also have Amoena Valetta camis that I wear fiberfill poofs in. These make a nice light weight shape that gives me bumps when I feel like it and look nice under a sheer white shirt. Usually wear some type of foob once a week.
-
I wear my silicones to work everyday and they are definitely heavy. I don't have a choice, as I see clients all day and have to look presentable. Mine do not fit flat against my chest, but as soon as I get my revision done, they will fit better. Mine are hot, no wait, that is just my hot flashes!!!! Mine are "Nearly Me" forms and my insurance pays for one set a year and three mastectomy bras a year. When my LE acts up I will put the forms in my mastectomy bra and wear it for a few days, but until my hot flashes subside, I can't stand the mastectomy bra.
-
The Amoena Valetta T shirts and camis are nice because they are looser and more comfortable than a bra. They have pockets for the forms so fit more like a bathing suit top.
-
Amy, it is not cheating. You should do what feels right for you. I have worn a form in the past,, but since dealing with truncal LE,, I have pretty much given it up in order to wear the compression. However, if I had a special dressy occasion, and I wanted to wear a nice outfit, I'm sure I would forego the compression for a day, wear my form and my dressy outfit! -
Such a relief to hear. I do have truncal LE but the pressure of the forms on my incisions feels good. In addition I sm wearing compression cami's with spots to insert the forms. Right now it looks and feels good.
XO to you all
Amy

you know, Amy,, that was one of the first signs to me that I had truncal LE,,, wearing my form and bra felt better than going without. And I'd always been one to go bra-less as much as possible,, so when wearing a bra and form felt good,,, hmmm,,,, I needed the pressure to help the LE and didn't even know it then. I'm so glad that you are feeling good after your surgery. ((hugs)) -
Amy - I'm a uni, and wear a form most of the time, sometimes I go half flat....What ever you're comfortable with. I met a lady a couple of years ago, that had a bilateral MX, every time her insurance would pay, she'd get different size and/or type of forms, so that she had a size for every occasion. If I was a bilateral MX I'd do that, sometimes big, sometimes small, sometimes none at all..... could be fun.

Fixed it. LOL. Could have been worse. You made me smile so much my face hurt
-
Thanks for the encouragement! It's been almost 2 months, and no regrets on the boobs....keeping the flat faith!
-
-
Please don't! We need the laugh. It's auppossed to help the SEa right!?
-
They told me laughing is good for LE.
-
Bravo, Wallycat! I agree. I can wear some tops which I could never fit into before. Nobody has said anything to me ever, unless I brought it up first.
Contrary to the OP, I noticed while recovering from surgery and watching the Australian Open Tennis, I kept staring at the young women with their beautiful, fit, boobs! I guess it was just a way to mourn my loss. I have never regretted my bmx decision.
-
Onco and ChloesMom, laughing so much. Irrelephant indeed.
-
Jackbird, I know what you mean. Maybe those women in the Australian Open have problems we can't even begin to imagine, despite their lovely breasts.
-
Feelingfine- your elephant really made me smile! So cute. Perfect!
And I'm sure you are right about those fine young millionaire tennis players. They have problems too, and a lot less sympathy no doubt because of their privelages. Snerk

Went to a spa with my sister for a massage. There I was flat and bald with a scarf on my head. The guy at the desk said they could arrange a consult for Botox for my the wrinkles by my eyes. I'm waiting for a massage. Told the idiot no thanks. I'm an all natural girl!
My sister asked to see the manager and said "My sister just lost her hair and her boobs were cut off and he's telling her she has a wrinkles !" What the .......

Chloesmom, That's a sister worth keeping. Good for her. How insensitive can someone be?
-
indeed!
-
Wow Chloesmom Good for her!
-
You have a good sister, Chloesmom. Good grief, how insensitive can that guy be? And you have laugh lines, not wrinkles!! Geeeez. I like your blouse,, it's lovely and that blue is a great color for you. -
I've been flat for 24 years. I'm comfortable with myself and this is the only way my grandchildren have ever seen me. My feelings were easily hurt the first year by people who said things to me. I was once asked if I was a man or a woman and it hurt me terribly at the time. Now if someone even looks like they are thinking about saying something, I just smile and tell them all about it in a nice, calm way. Then I give them a puzzled look and ask if they have any other questions for me. 99% of people are so kind to me after that. A few are embarrassed, but I tell them it's ok, and walk away- unless they have already flown the coup.
-
Welcome SQ23. Well done you! plus .....YAAAY 24 years YAAAAY! You are a great inspiration.

Hi Ladies, my niece posted this link on twitter.
(edited to add what the link is about
)
A genderless underwear company is using breast cancer survivors as models
I copied this quote from the site, if you don't want to open the link.
“Wearing fake breasts would do nothing positive for me, physically
or emotionally; I quail at the idea of presenting two body types, breasted
public image and a flat private image. I hope that as time passes, fewer women
will have to fight, like I did, to make medical choices which they know to be
in their own best interest.Abby Sugar, one of the co-founders of Play Out, told i100.co.uk
that the company was trying to move away from the “pinkwashing” of breast
cancer. There are so many major companies that have jumped on the pink
bandwagon mainly for profit at a specific time of year. We need to be talking
about this year-round.”
-
Yes! And our very own MT is one of those models ! You go, MT!!
