Mouth sores!!!

There are two other drugs if that doesn't work, Mugard and Caphosol. I used Caphosol, sores were gone in 48 hours. Good luck

We're so sorry to hear you're experiencing this painful side effect! The main Breastcancer.org site's page on Mouth and Throat Sores (Mucositis) offers some suggestions to help!

Also, on the More Tips (and a Shopping List) for Getting Through Chemo thread, Trvler says: "I started having a terrible time with canker sores (about 6 or 7 years ago) and did extensive reading about it because I was miserable. At one point, I had about 6 of them in my mouth. I learned to pop 2 lysine tablets at the first second I felt one coming on and take more of them in the next few days. They stopped them cold."

my MO also recommended L-Lysine, quantity 2, 500 mg tablets taken daily. I had mouth sores after my first infusion, but have been taking it since, and no more mouth sores. I'm through 3 and about to have #4 next Thursday.

It is available OTC at larger grocery stores, pharmacies, and health food store.
