Thanks for all the support ladies while i was out either thru pm, or phone calls. i love coming here to hear all the exciting things everyone is doing. it totally takes my mind off my own situation and lets me live vicariously thru yall. so live it up...and tell all about it.
hootie hoo
-
Patty- good to hear from you! I am not sure you will want to live vicariously through what I have been busy with this week, but here goes.....
I have been busy doing some more paperwork purging from historical files (some over 20 years old) and filled up my dumpster. Creating better space for the things I need to store and getting rid of the old stuff. I started going through all the boxes, piles, containers two weeks ago and have become BFFs with the shredder lady at Staples and also been filling up my city recycling bin a couple times. It has been a total paperwork purge fest! I am grateful to be getting to this after staring at some of these boxes for year/decades and knowing they needed my attention.
My favorite thing I came across is an old Seventeen magazine from August of 1978. That was the summer I was heading off to college and no doubt needed to figure out what the cool fashion was to have in my freshman year! Through the years, I have come to really love the memories of the 1970s. So many fun things during that time that I realize now were just purely good times.
Hoping you are feeling better and glad you popped in to say hi!
-
MammaRay- you had every right to set the boundaries of how much information you wanted to be out there or not! I'd feel the same way if I were you.
-
Welcome to the newbies!
Thanks for all the light hearted banter.
Hoping to catch up soon.
We've gone straight to summer. This is from my truck yesterday:

-
Oh 2ndtime- that's evil hot..104 yikes! Stay in the shade. At least it's a dry heat. I lived in CA in the Central Valley for 12 years. The double digits especially past 110 did me in. I remember having my BIL visit and he complained that our house was 83 degrees and could we get it lower? I had our airconditioner full blast, but it was 118 outside that day! SOL!!! He had come up from San Jose for a few days. I have to laugh because now he lives in Sacramento..ha ha!
Mammaray- I wouldn't be comfortable either. Don't feel too bad. Your friend will understand. Jazzy hope you kept the seventeen magazine for good yucks. Momof 2 glad you got some needed sleep and are healing up. Hi Patty! Send Blondie in for a check in!
Hugs to ya'll. Mags that climbing rose over the arbor was magnificient!
-
2nd time-wow that is warm! It is going to be up to the 80s here today.
-
Just put the order in that I got at the PS's office this week. I paid for the order to be shipped to me and then I'll get paid when I give them the order.
-
Good morning webrats....wait, I mean Ladies!
2nd - it's way too early for 104 degrees or anything within 20 degrees of that. I left Houston to late spring weather in the mid-80s and made it to Nebraska to mid-70s and spring just starting instead of being over. I'm glad I got to see both!
In Houston, beautiful azaleas, magnolias, hawthorn, etc. The only thing I miss a little is all the greenness of the Gulf Coast.
I hope everyone is feeling at least sort of good today. I'm just running a couple of errands and hanging out with the kidlet. He made the most delicious spaghetti and meatballs last night. I love that boy! Well for more than just his cooking skills, of course!

On my lunch break now and just popping in to say hi.
MS. Chevy, funny post! My DH and I both snore when we are exhausted. I think his is worse than mine. I don't do the trumpet snoring( air blowing). Well at least I don't think I do
-
Patty, I was thinking about you this morning. Hope you are comfortable. Good to hear from you. My favorite:

-
thanks
-
MammaRay, you shouldn't have to carry the burden of guilt. Sounds like your friend has good intention. But, I do understand where you are coming from. If your friend has pure motives, I am sure she will understand your decision. If she doesn't, then help her understand. Hopefully, your friendship/relationship with her is not affected by misunderstanding. I don't think you are being selfish at all.

-
2nd, we're expecting high of 91 degree today here up north Cal
-
-
I am jealous! Is that a Sheba Inu or Dingo
-
I don't know, probably a Sheba. It's a cute free app I found, there's all kinds of cute dogs on it.
-
Mamma Ditto Jazzy---she said it real good. Are you Catholic? Only ask b/c we are so good with feeling guilty about everything. i.e sending matresses away. Killing spiders, and getting negative people out of our lives
Patty P Yay love to see you. Send me your address please.
Smarrty, I may not get to it this week. In this stage of life I'm a major major procrastinator.
Reading a Dan Brown book---lost symbol. I'm udside down on sleeping.
-
I'VE GOT IMPORTANT OWL CHIT TO DO................
Maybe this owl is thinking.... You put your right foot in, You put your right foot out; You put your right foot in, And you shake it all about." /> -
MammaRay- women are taught to always put others feeling first. It is why we inherently worry about saying no to things that don't work for us.
Your friends may still want you to do something for them, so think about what they can do to help you. Run an errand for you, babysit your kids so you and your husband can have a date night, take you out for lunch. People will offer what they think they can or want to do. You can ask for something else if they offer and chances are, there will be something else that works better than the golf tournie.
It was in the mid 80s here today and it felt like summer!

sassy, no rush. That a good book, you'll enjoy it.
Hey Patty, glad you posted.
We got to 95 today, airs running full tilt.
Had the endoscopy done Tuesday morning. Some inflammation that he took samples. Won't know anything for 3 weeks. That means they're growing cultures?
Going to be house and dog sitting again, so I'll get more quilts done and going to read a book! Show you latter

Sas - Very, very interesting reading going through all the links you posted regarding PPIs, Flonase, Vit D, etc. Thank you, again for all that. Don't know if I ever answered your question about whether or not they did a culture on DD2. They did not, although I did ask about it at her appt on Monday. Dr. said they usually only do that if it keeps coming back. The interesting thing...long story, but I asked Dr. again about using an antibiotic cream on the rash and she said to have her use the one she is using for her nose to try it and see what happens. With only two applications of that, rash is almost completely gone! The very interesting information in the link about Flonase makes me wonder if the sore in her nose came from that. It's so hard to say because she was off it for a little while and was not using it regularly when all this stuff started, so I don't know what came first. In any case, I hate meds and am always worried about side effects, so I'm hoping her sinuses will improve so she won't have to go back to any of the steroid sprays. The PPI and Flonase combo got her through a really tough spot last year, but I would prefer she not go back to either of them if she can avoid it. Thanks again and again!!
Loveroflife - It was a steroid nasal spray that DD2 was using. She has not had to use an inhaler, but I did read some things about the inhalers and yeast issues and wondered if nasal spray could have also caused part of this problem. Loved your Double Delight!
To everyone - I really enjoyed catching up on the posts! All the flower pictures were beautiful!!
Mom2 mentioned NCIS - Somehow we didn't start with that one, but DH and I love NCIS LA and NCIA New Orleans. We were just looking on Netflix the other day to see if we could watch the regular NCIS and we didn't see it on there, which was a bummer!
Smarty - glad your endoscopy is over! Hopefully you can get your results soon and get feeling better. Can't wait to see the next quilt!
Good night, All!
-
Mama u have to do what is right 4 u...
Patty tried to call u again vm full. Glad to see u r ok
Went on hospice today..know what it mean..it was alot of information.
-
Blondie, Hope hospice is able to keep you comfortable and able to do anything you want for a long time. They can really move mountains when needed. I've seen people on here who did so well that hospice fired them. Hugs.
-
Blondie, hospice will ensure excellent home care. You deserve to be pampered.
*Hugs* -
Mel, The number one cause of bacterial resistance-------Superbugs------------DOCS caused this-------------Docs resistance against culturing started in the the 1970's . I was there. No clue why docs stopped culturing. . But I was in the transition of culture the 'Whatever', to just provide the broad spectrum antibiotic. We are now in the scenario of antibiotics not being able to control bacteria. Bacteria's---that are resistant. Doc's in their arrongance have created this disasterous situation. Pisses me off.
We had great drugs, they were not used rightly by the docs who did Paintball Therapy. Now we are in a mess.
Science is now taking a different approach too. bacterial control. Still pisses me off, didn't have to happen. Arrogance.
-
Okay Mel--------------------I was on a rant---went back an read your post again--------I've slowed down. Flonase can lead to Candida. I brought that link from dailymed.com. Get them to culture DD 's mouth. -
Blondie- Hospice is good-----------in a do over with Greg-------would have done it months earlier. In his case he still could have had chemo.. I was pissed to find out that this was so..........Lymphoma is different. He didn't have to go through what he did. -
Blondie- good to hear about Hospice. I think so highly of them and have seen them help many. And I have also seen people go on on Hospice, and do better. This is good news sister. You deserve the best care!
-
Blondie-Yep hospice is a very fine thing. I am sure they will do wonders for making you comfy. Everyone I know says they should have gotten hospice in sooner, Hard to tell when I guess. My Dad died 17 days after hospice started, too late in my opinion. My Grandfather died of NonHodgkins Lymphoma. He complain of back pain and was dead 2 months later, awful. Now they have so many more treatments, back in the 1960's they didn't have as many.
Just got back from watching Bold Expressive Arts Theater - BEAT. It was a performance at the Deaf school, very LOUD and colorful and cute. DD was performing with the middle school and highschool kids. All smiles and cheers and a good turn out! I didn't bring her flowers nope the kid loves flamming hot cheetos! Did her eyes light up or what, when I gave her that bag! Her big sissy drove down from college after classes all day to watch, brought her a Starbucks. Poor sissy has to be at Starbucks at 6:00am and won't be back home until 10pm. Then she has classes after work- ugh! Her little sister just beamed to see her there - worth it. DH and I gave her gas $. Sometimes it's so validating to have a 19 year old college sister take time off to see you perform at the age of 14. Mom and Dad are good - but Sissy rocks!
