eyebrows/eyelashes

hi...I'm on treatment #16. Seems like I'm losing more eyelashes and eyebrows during radiation than I did with chemotherapy. Anyone else have that issue?? :-)
-
I had lost about 1/2 of my brows/lashes('private hair' too) on neoadjuvant A/C. On weekly adjuvant Taxol, the rest of all hair 'left'. So on rads - I had no hair left to loose.
-
Probably left over from chemo. Your hair, all of it, will start its normal growth cycles soon.

The only hair that radiation has an effect on is the hair in the skin that is radiated. For instance, if you have targeted radiation on a part of your head you will most likely have hair loss on that spot. After surgery & chemo I had radiation - and one of the target areas was my axilla area. So I have only a tiny patch of armpit that still grows hair under that arm.
I also did not lose eyebrows or eyelashes on AC chemo but started losing them both on weekly Taxol - 3 weeks in. Then they started growing back about 2 weeks later. During my Taxol treatments my hair on my head resumed growth also. I did have another eyelash loss (partial) about 3 weeks after my 12 weekly Taxols ended but they came right back in.
For some people it takes different hair cycles until their lash or brow hair starts cycling like before.
One more thing - stress can cause hair loss. And the results of the stress and subsequent hair loss can occur 6 months after the major stress event. I experienced this once (age 36) after several life events that tipped the scale. It was kind of like after I gave birth to my children - lots more daily hairs in my brush & shower. I started counting them. LOL Then it stopped. It was a search on the internet that gave me the first answer.
Hang in there.

hi Sheeba
I finished 4 chemo sessions Feb 13 th...after second one all hair on my head and lower fell out but had all lashes and brows.
Had 3weeks daily rads and the week after, my brows and lashes came off...I looked up how long chemo continues to work and the answer was 12 weeks, so I thought that was the cause.
I didn't know rads could cause that but now I'm wondering if it did.
Wondering if yours started growing back yet?
I had so few side effects from both chemo and rads I'm not complaining but hope it all grows back sometime.
Trying to draw light eyebrows is a challenge but wig bangs cover them...lol...good luck to you

I lost my eyelashes and eyebrows after chemo was over. They started growing back after my rads were completed (25 session) and some eyelashes kept falling after my hair started growing back.
The eyelashes length and eyebrow fullness is not near close to before chemo but I am hoping it will change with time.

same here. I got short stubby lashes and sparse brows
