I must have had something with speed in it.................

Anyhoos That years science research project -------"Next years project was: New brushes cultured. Test subjects mouthes were cultured. Tests subjects used toothbrush. Brush then was put through a wash cycle. Repeated for five days(mon start -fri, stop) Mouths were recultured at the end of one week(fri). Results: Bacteria was reduced in the mouth. Repeated for three weeks.". Was done in the science research lab. The kids would meet in the lab so DS could culture their mouths. They all brushed at school during the weeks of the experiment and put their toothbrushes in the DW. The SR kids are so special. Can you just picture them all . They always helped each other out on projects.

DS's mentor in the lab was the lead Med Tech. He got to do things in the lab for two years that I never got to do in college. He wouldn't even let me come watch. Bummer. He did good.

Hey Rosie, Loved the stories about the cabin and the pic makes it so complete. I can just see you all there. Would love to see a pic of the little table you did :). ...... Wren want's to get off PPI's hence my answer. BUT I didn't say it messed up calcium, I just said it had a connection to osteoporosis----that's the connection. WREN hootie hoo

I tried to tell my DB that years ago. He would rather take another drug---meloxicam for the arthritis type pain than think his calcium absorption wasn't being messed with by the Prevacid. He so pissed me off. I totally distrust the Cox 2 inhibitors.

I trusted 4-5 docs to guide me when Celebrex came out. I lost a chunk of colon to that trust. I had muscle, bone, and joint pain, weakness--severe. Post polio.  I went through a major workup to assure I wasn't assuming it was post polio. Celeberx was brand new. I searched internet extensively. GI, Rheumatologist, neurologist, ortho, PCP docs---all cleared me for use of Celebrex.  It exacerbated divertic.

The one place I didn't look was the PDR. Black Box warning (memorized ever since). " Not to be used with a history of ulcers, diverticulosis, diverticulitis, may cause spontaneous GI rupture" Chit.---All those doc's had my hx.--------It never came up in the internet search. But that was end of 2000 into 2001. Another damn lesson. Out of that lesson came "All drugs have consequences!" Not a new phrase, but became a mantra.

Well my daughter doesn't go to sleep without meds and neither do I, but tonight I might actually have been asleep but she can't go to sleep unless I'm awake. So as usual I'm still awake until whenever.

How is everyone else? Any clean jokes?

Rosie take a look please, at this link. If you read my response to Wren above you will see my concerns. I have concerns about the article, but there were many good things in it too. Your insight would be appreciated chickie-poo. (yes, I have had some wine--it's lovely---Cavit, Pinot Grigio)

That's cute. Appreciate the comeback. I've had y'all on my faves forever but I don't think I've ever posted.

I think its time for the rest of my meds. I think part of my problem is that I'm out of one of my pain meds until May 10th. Its not like they do any good anyway.

Trinity, you been lurking for 3 years chickie? My goodness. Drop in and join us. We are all over the map on BC. Chevy is our resident humorist. Cami too, but she's been hiding. We are loose, we are serious, we are different, we are supportive...............we ARE( that's the Pinot Grigio talking), but I'm actually serious. I'm the OCD one that worries if a mattress is going to find a good home that will keep it clean, dry and unstained. I, also, put all toothbrushes in the dishwasher. Can't get more OCD than that. But I'll let you if you wish :)

But we have many that name their cars and have good-bye sessions with them. ( Thanks all I'm not abnormal----:)   -)

We have tinker's in Dutchy and Susan. Painter's in Rosie, Chevy, Lmg's, and Dutchy & Susan again,

Enerva---Hi sweetie, the bottles are so cute and eco friendly. How are you? Foobs? The bike? Your sister? The rest of the family? Your new business? We didn't have the April visit here, but seriously if you feel the need to do a fly away and find a good price, call and we can figure something out. I have the back door open b/c the weathers been so superlative ----for about 6 months. Not sure why this same cardinal keeps coming in the enclosure. Flies around for a couple of hours then flies out.

Wow, Ms. Sas!! Is this what happens when you have a glass (I hope it was just one) of wine. I could not keep up with you for the life of me. I am a simple person who can only understand simple sentences. What?!!!!! You have OCD too? I have this thing about keeping stuffs where they are supposed to belong. Drives me crazy when my kids and hubby have items all over the place...can't think straight and then I get anxious. BUT guess who is always going around looking for misplaced items? Moi, because I could never remember where I placed them. I really need help.Anyway, thank you for the info on Vitamin D. My Doc wants my level above 40.

Rose, no it's not more fun. I would get a panic attack lol

MS Smaarty, I would love to meet up with you.

Mel, is your DD on a steroid inhaler by any chance?

    Jazzy, best wishes.

It's 11:30 and I can't think straight anymore. Going to bed. Good night.

OMD, just like the old days, 2:20 am and no one here. In those days I'd wait for the southlanders to come ChrissyB, Alyson, Thatslife.....Alyson's the only southlander that comes now. May be I should go to the Aussie thread and invite them. If you go back to the very early days of the thread. If no one was here I'd talk to myself about things.

    It was comforting.

Loverly-----Hooks------hooks for keys, hooks for purses, places for everything. LOLOLOLOL. DBF had no concept of how to find his keys--made him a hook. Glasses on  a hook . We laugh all the time--he can't find his keys or glasses---if they are laying, I put them on their hook. He said today "I've been looking for those how did they get there?" DBF is great at folding laundry and putting it away------they're things I've never found. DBF is finally good at empting the dishwasher. He get's that everything has a place. You do the same? OCD very good. Felix Unger is my mentor( Tony Randall).

Thanks for the good wishes on the pending consulting gig. Should know more today.

About jokes, I sometimes find myself in the midst of "blonde jokes." I am a blonde (by choice, not by birth) and when I went mostly gray around 40, I started highlighting my hair and eventually ended up just doing a whole color change and have kept up with it since. My coloring allowed me to pull it off.

Now that being said, there are people I know where I live that really never knew me when I had darker hair. I play music for fun and was in this music class of all men who started up one night with the blonde jokes, and were looking for a reaction. I could tell they were trying to piss me off/push my buttons. Like a bunch of high school boys. I have worked in all male jobs before, so I know how to flip the tables on them pretty quickly.

So they were going on and on with their dumb blonde jokes, and I was just sitting there staring at them with my "whatever look" and they said "these jokes don't seem to bother you." I said "that is right because I am not really a blonde you see, I dye my hair". Silence. Oooh, SNAP!

I'm done and back home. Didn't feel or remember a thing. Yeah! Appt at 7:30, home at 9 and went to bed, up at 11. He saw some inflammation, took tissue samples which I won't know about for 3 weeks. Hopefully that's minor and I'm on the backside of this. Still feeling a little off but ok. Will catch up on the TV today.

My sister on the way over and I had to hide the paperwork, since I haven't told her anything. Still not planning to until she gets back from her cruise. She leaves Friday morning, then I start house and dog sitting.

Welcome Trinity. No more lurking, jump in with both feet. We're a nut house

Chevy, my mom was a Shalimar lady too. Ok I have some suggestions for replacing your pink rose. First I offer two views of my favorite, Tiffany. One of the few roses to win awards for fragrance. At one time I had a climber version, and I would have literally armloads of long stemmed blooms in the house. Hard to find but worth it.

As you can see, it shades to peach in the center.

Here's my other favorite, Cecile Brunner. It's an old old rose, my mom had one growing in our yard when I was growing up. It can get huge, but the blooms are tiny, pure pale pink, tea rose shape. Also very fragrant. This picture was at our old house. I had a lovely arbor with a bench, sitting under it the scent was heavenly. Birds built nests in it.

I think I have a close up of a bud.

Not the best, but see the nail clippers there for proportion.

Beautiful Mags. I love the Tiffany. Do you have much trouble with it in Oklahoma? I've never tried roses, really afraid of them. I'm not much of a gardener. My 80 year old neighbor has lovely roses, takes care of them herself.

What kind of exposure do they have? Hoping - fingers crossed - you say west. I have one spot in the front flower bed for a rose bush. Otherwise it's pure grass, mowed weeds west side and lol I'm not kidding. Only weed stuff I put down is just around the house perimeter for stickers. But then I know they are susceptible to black spot from dampness which for sure they would have under roof line drip.

    But very, very lovely.

On an entirely different note I love the purple drapes behind it!
