Thank you for the encouragement.

Walked about 2 miles with DH and our dog this morning, and then came home and made a couple of recipes for slightly healthier treats.

Nice to see the fun and hugs at Merlefest!
Karen, do you need an oil change after 2M steps? LOL. Excellent work.
Cassiecat I think its easy to get in that funk. You've been through a lot, not 100% and other's lives go on as normal. At one point I felt like I didn't know why I had worked so hard to save THIS life. It does get better, but in the mean time, find some everyday things that make you happy whether it be exercise, music, flowers, art, lunch with friends, etc and make sure you do some of that every day until you are back to yourself and whatever excitement you want.
Yesterday it was cold and rainy here so I went to the mall and walked 50 minutes. Boring but exercise. Today its sunny so I mowed the back yard 40 minutes, then I did my deck sunning for my vitamin D dose!
I'm doing another fast! Currently on hour 28 and feel pretty good. This is my fifth time fasting in 2 years and it gets a little easier each time. I'm just going to go as long as I can.
-
Ran for 18 minutes, walked for 25...
-
Yikes! I have been MIA for a while! I guess that's good, it means that life doesn't revolve around BC anymore.
Ruth, do you have your "site" for next year's get together? I would love to come if I can
Mel, I saw your post a few pages back that you live in Mooresville. My daughter recently bought a home in Cornelius, and her in-laws live in Huntersville. Next time we come down to visit we will have to get together!
I haven't been posting but have been exercising......but I need the voices to start ROARING!

Rhody, we haven't picked next year's trip yet. Since we will have done California two years in a row (northern last year, southern this year), maybe we will have to go east to be fair.....stay tuned for further developments!

I did a 30 minute FIRM toning DVD this morning & took a walk this afternoon. A nice, pretty day.
-
celebrated my first cancerversary riding a horse in New Zealand. Hoping for more years of N.E.D.
Back from NZ now and focussing on the training for the Yorkshire Three Peaks. Did a ten mile training walk on Saturday and today spent a few hours gardening.
-
Great work, Sandie! I did a 25 mile ride yesterday on my road bike, and then switched to my hybrid to do a gravel trail. About 20 miles. Just gorgeous, but hard going. I can certainly tell that I haven't ridden it for a while.
Having a spot of tea before settling down for work. Making lentil soup for dinner. Will use up the leftover stock from a pot roast I made a couple of weeks ago, plus is extremely healthy to boot.
-
Hello, everyone. Glad to see you are all doing well.
Hi Rhody, good to know you are doing well.
I am also in a bit of a funk with this bum hip of mine. It has been 3 weeks that I have not been able to run and even walking is painful. I have an appt to see the dr on Tuesday afternoon and am hoping to get some answers. After exercising indoors all winter, it is killing me not to be able to do anything now that the weather is better. Ok, whine is over...
-
Today's exercise was herding the fur babies to the vet for their six month checkups. Also took a short walk.
-
Millions of steps, wow!
Today I did a solid hour at the gym of resistance training and abs. My trainers showed me these awesome stretching exercises on TRX last friday that feel SO good and a great way to end a weight work out!
-
Just wanted to let you all know that I did get in touch with Natsfan. Between multiple trips to California with DH's dad's illness, death and memorial service, the move, and a big project at work....craziness. They did get the house sold & paperwork done, and now will get the rest of the furniture moved & then hopefully start to get back to normal. I am supposed to say hi to everyone - she misses you all and hopes to be back soon! I quote, "I will definitely need the inspiration!"
-
Thanks for the update regarding Mary- Ruth.
Core and more and freestyle step at the gym this morning.
-
Just very light housework like dishes, prepping the roast and potatos for dinner. Danced in the kitchen while I did dishes this morning!
-
Yesterday around 5k steps with lite housework, laundry and parked a few blocks away from the restaurant we had dinner. We Went to a Korean BBQ restrauant where the meat is cooked at the table, sides were fresh no heavy food and the salad was delicious.
Ruth thanks for the update on Natsfun. Can't wait until next years trip. Not sure why but it means a lot to me to meet some of you in person.
Sandy,we celebrate with you on your first year. Sounds like you had a good time.
Cassie, how are you doing? I still find that I get into a funk especially when think on not being 100% and my family and friends go on as normal. Like Twohobbies stated I find something simple like crafting, walking or sometimes just reading with a nice cup of coffee or tea brings me out. PM me at anytime I got your back as you always have mine and give me encouragement all the time!

Thanks Claire_in_S and ladyb1234. Had a fabulous time in NZ and look forward to further adventures

today I went to the gym for hour and a half session and then back outside doing my back garden - still got lot to do but good to have a project to keep busy.
-
I'm back! Mexico was amazing. I was so sad to come back home to rain and cold on Friday. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable trip ever. And I even managed to exercise every day except our travel days

Today was back to work. Boooo! I ran three miles at lunch and did some weight-lifting in the gym after.
Feeding the manatees!
-
Swimming with the dolphins was on my bucket list! Check!
-
Havent been here in a while because of exchange surgery. But now I'm cleared to exercise again YAY! So just over a mile on the elliptical yesterday and just over 2 miles on it today. Then went grocery shopping. It feels good to be moving again
-
On the rowing machine on Saturday, and then pilates after work tonight. I guess I could count yesterday a little since I was climbing up and down a latter to work on our boat to get her ready to go in the water.

LOVE the photos, Meijo! You look fantastic.
-
Sandie, New Zeeland? Wow, you should post some pictures too!
Meljo, fabulous pictures! How fun!!!
Alex, glad to see you back & cleared to exercise. Whoo hoo!
ladyb, I hope you will be able to meet up next year. I can't even describe how moving & neat it is.....a whole deep level of connection(plus super, super fun!).
I did yoga, cleaned up, and went to my annual oncology checkup (100 miles away). Needless to say, I had been all creeped out since I did the blood work last week, but all is well, and I am to, "Keep doing what you have been doing to stay healthy and thank God." Whew, and AMEN to both parts of that advice! I squeezed back into town just in time to go do zumba (which was needed....after the appointment we celebrated at a restaurant which serves the biggest, juiciest burgers ever. What says 'health' more than a greasy burger?
) -
meljo: Love Love Love your pictures! You're so cute and so are the dolphins!
Alexa: Glad your surgery is behind you and you can be active again!
Ruth: YEA on your visit! I bet the greasy hamburger was delicious.
Hi All. I heard from Badger and she safely home. I'm sure she's exhausted!
A beautiful day here. Walk/ran at the park this afternoon.
-
Meljo- great pics and you look awesome too!
-
hi all and welcome any newbies, this is a great place for friendship & motivation.
Wonderland it was so fun to see you & meet your men @ MerleFest. Gorgeous Carolina blue skies Thurs & Fri but rainy & cold Sat & Sun. GREAT music every day. Lots of movement, lots of good food including my first jambalaya. We packed up & headed for home Sun morning to get through the mountains in daylight. Glad we did, it's a pretty part of the world when not obscured by fog.
Now the countdown begins for California 2015! ♥

Bringing the Fun from Coast to Coast!

-
Tonight's run, not fun as was dragging. Really warm day so got to enjoy the trip to Kari's Bog and trip back. Have water heating for butternut squash ravioli. YUM. So glad I snagged it on sale yesterday. Major breakthrough at work, so pumped about that. Less pumped about the mosquito paying a visit because the door to my deck is open.
My guy just got his FIFTH bicycle. Quite the midlife crisis ride. But bravo for him.
Sandee....where in Yorkshire??? I have driven the Dales but not hiked there unless you count walking near Ripon. I have done serious "walking" in the Lake District. One of the magical places on earth. (For the Statesiders, "walking" in the Lake District involves ascents to the peaks, which most of us would call "hiking". There is also a sport called "Fells Running" which makes doing a marathon a sport for weenies.)
Anyway, my dinner beckons..... - Claire
-
Meljo fabulous pictures looks like your visit to Mexico was fun. Sandie congrats on your anniversary way to celebrate. Oh Claire you reminded me, Ripon has one of the best ice cream shops I've ever been to sigh... Glad you made it home safely Badger and great that you got to spend time with Wonderland. I was in San Diego yesterday, had lunch with the San Diego BCO ladies then met a friend who lives in Carlsbad and went for a drink and a lovely walk on the beach.
Cardio Dance Party tonight.
-
Meljo, such awesome and fabulous pictures. Looks you had a lot of fun in Mexico.
Badger, welcome home!
Ruth: YAy! on your checkup! Celebration meal sounds delicious.
My Fitbit is telling me not much movement today and my Fitbit tells me the truth -- big smile. Did laundry and crafts and just a relaxing day today. Will hit the gym tomorrow -- I hope.
-
HaHa, I had to walk around & around the living room for half an hour last night so my FitBit would vibrate and I could go to bed. My new motto is, "It's all about the buzz!"
I am going to my cardio sculpt class this morning, then maybe try to spend some coupons on summery clothes, high school baseball at 4:30, Reader's Theater at 7:00.....might be too much sitting & more pre-bed laps around the house tonight.

-
Meljo614, what a wonderful pic!! So happy to see you are so active so soon, gives me hope! How are you doing with the AI, any side effects yet? I have 2 weeks of rads left and that's where I'll be, trying to stay positive and really hoping I can get back to a normal movement routine soon:)
