-
Thanks ladies. I didn't get to meet her this weekend as her mom wasn't up to traveling, but they are coming up this Sunday. Yay.
-
Deb- post pics! Congrats!!
I am working and been busy with life which is refreshing! School is coming to an end, so my surgery is around the corner. I am still on tam but not big problems so far.
Had a parent at school get dx today. They said they were using me as the example to their kids when they tell them. I am happy I came back to work immediately and their daughter has seen me everyday at school normal. Still so hard and my heart breaks for them. The mom sounds light years ahead of me in the dx stage. They will find all that out in about a week for sure though. Say prayers for all those recently dx sisters out there

Hi everyone, I know this thread is kind of dying off at the moment, but I wanted to share something in case anyone popped in to take a peek. I have spent the last four months fighting my way out of the cellar of my mind. In some ways, I am having a tougher time of it now than when I was actively fighting the big C. I still haven't found my 'new norm'. I am now off work for 2 years and on disability.
On a happier note though, I have had some really good support from my family. My DD (the RN) is happy that I finally sought help, apparently she has been worried for me. My hubby is always there for me as is my mom. Also, happily, I am off work for 2 years. Oh and did I mention that I was off work for 2 years. Just can't say that often enough. The time is letting me regroup and maybe even make life better than it ever was.
We bought a motorhome, so maybe we will just pop out and see you all. Just for an afternoon - you won't even have to clean your place. lol
If you want to keep in touch, I am on Facebook as Deborah Ringler. I can give you my email, etc., if you want to contact me there.
Big hugs and kisses to each of you. We have weathered quite a journey together and each has taken a different path. I love that about our little group - so diverse and yet so similar.
Love,
Deb
-
Deb,
nice to hear from you. found you on FB but couldn't add you...?? that's nice to live in a motor home and travel with your loved ones.....i love our little group....hopefully jodi and piper will come visit soon.
-
Yes June, I couldn't add her either--the friend request button was missing on there. Glad to hear that all is well--I still have my tumor but it seems to have shrunk some more--my health is good and I feel good and found a good holistic support group in St. Louis. Yes Red, come on down--I live on two acres and have plenty of room for a camper and my classroom isn't nearly as crazy this year.
-
hi ladies,
i don't know if you guys still come back to this thread.....but i read on FB that jodi is facing another tx plan....i felt very sad about the news....
-
Oh June, I read that too and feel like she does not deserve this at all, at all. To have to go thru all of that again.
-
oh ladies thank you for thinking of me! Yes, I have had the worst news. I have digested it now, and I tell you I am so lucky in two ways. One, that the mets stayed in on location and did not make it to an organ especially since the pain started in July! And second, that I am walking since I had basically fractured my neck! This is the first time I have been in this site since I got dx again. My DH told me yesterday to please get back on because y'all and my Dec chemo ladies were such a support. I hate to be a reminder to all my friends here that this happens to some. He wants me to join the bone mets group, and I am so scared to do that, but they have advice just like y'all do for me. I'm praying that it stays put, and we can get it. Pray for my girls. They are my everything, and I need more time with them especially Lulu. I'm tough, so I will fight! I want to make a shock happen by beating this somehow even if for only 15 years. That would be amazing. Thank you for all the prayers and support! I pray for y'all as well
-
Oh Jodi, thank you so much for coming back on here to update us. I'm so glad that the mets didn't make it to your organs and that you're walking--we must celebrate every victory and every day we can spend with our children is truly a victory. Anyway, you're right, you're tough and you're a fighter so hang in there.
-
hope y'all are doing good!! I'm doing great y'all! Last reports for second time say no active cancer. So, for sure that has been March to August. I'll take it. Thinking of you and hoping all is well
-
Hi Jodi,

(((hugs)))
-
Jodi, that is fantastic news! I can only imagine how happy you and your family and friends much be. Hell, I'm happy. You rock!
