Hi Ladies, I'm just wondering how many of you have been tested for the BRCA gene and if you were positive or negative? I was just tested and am waiting for results.

Since I am an anomaly in my family, I am in my 50s, and the type of BC I had the test was not needed

I was tested because I was under 50 with bilateral BC even though I had no family history. It came back negative.

I tested because I was diagnosed before the age of 50. No family history, but I came back as BRCA1
-
I was tested because I was DXd at 44 and both grandmothers died of breast cancer. I tested negative. My genetic counselor told me that because of my grandmothers, it is possible that I have a genetic disposition but science has not mastered testing for all genetic cancer codes at this time.
