Second opinion.........................Now......I would not wait a full year if you have thickening..........get a 2nd opinion, and then go from there......I just would so it right away......but that is upto you..
I would do whatever I could to find out what is going on.............and if in the end you need a hysterectomy, do it..........today they are done usually through the vagina........and there are no incisions..now if they take the ovaries and tubes that could be a different story.......but I don't think that surgery is as brutal as it was years ago.
Good luck........
-
Agreed w ducky 2nd opinion
Mommy thanks 4 checking in
Big hugs
-
I changed life late, so my Gyn made me get a uterine biopsy to make sure there was no problems............there wasn't.
Aftet my husband died my period came on like gangbusters, and we could not stop it........of course I thoughtit was the stress of my husband's death..........I was given a pill to stop the bleeding, but my Dr. ordered a Hystascope...............along withe a D&C...........what he found was a Polyp, and when they did the pathology, it was the type that becomes malignant...................I was glad he continued to see what was happening.\
So look into things, until they finally give you clear answers........don't stop........
-
Whew! I won't share anything anymore. Didn't mean to get things stirred up here. I just know what I went through. I'm outta here.
-
No...thanks for sharing from everyone! I don't think anyone meant anything badly....I appreciate everyone's experience with this stuff. The thickening seems so minimal, but maybe I'm just playing games in my head and anything thickening is bad thickening.
((hugs))

I think you can have two people with the exact same diagnosis and still their treatment choices will be different. I know I've made some choices in my treatment that others wouldn't have considered. We are all so different.
I'm sorry you're having to go through this Tangandchris, so soon after getting good news. I can only offer a listening ear, as I have zero experience with the topic at hand. I haven't let a doctor go near my lady parts since my reconstruction from flesh eating bacteria. I doubt that I ever will. However, I think if my MO had a different opinion from my NP (not sure what that is), I would most definitely get a second opinion. But that's just me.....I tend to question EVERYTHING after my dance with Necrotizing Fasciitis.
Jo, Ducky and Blondie....you have all been through so much. I'm so glad you are all still here to share all your experience with us all.
Sleep well Goddesses!
-
Slow .......was just giving my opinion.......normally I don't........and won't again...........hugs girlie........
-
Tang, that REALLY IS MINIMAL! i think it's some one looking for a buck. I have read too many books lately. In the last ten years: 45 million women became osteoporotic (and thus over treated) over night, when they decided to lower the numbers to qualify. And the same thing has happened with high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and prostate cancer too. This is all searchable, if you google the levels of ten years ago and now. I know this girl, 24 years old, same thing, but they are still watching and waiting. She doesnt do a biopsy as often as they want her too, but no one is asking her to do a hyster. If i was you, i would get a second opinion. MO was right, and it definately is NOT standard of care. Is there a gyno at the tx center? Because they would follow closely, and also understand the problems with taking a uterus out. Things have a tendancy to move around.NP sounds like they have already decided "You will discus it". Sheesh. That's between you and your doc, IF you decide he IS your Doc.
-
I have an appt in May with a Gyno at my cancer center. One of my scans shows thickening in my uterus, possibly fibroids. So I find this discussion insightful.
Why can't I get news like "Oh, we need to suction all of this fat out of your thighs. Insurance will cover it."
-
yw Still a bit sore but okay.
-
Mommy.. Pleased that It's all over with and you are doing well !
-
Jo!!! Please come back! You did not stir anything up!!! if anything it was ME, and i can go away for a while, but i cant go away for ever, because my heart would break as strongly as if you did! I am sorry if I offended anybody. Please! I guess I am angry about something that happened to me, I have been over treated with too many medicines, and they have messed up my stomache, clearly it was not a good mix, so I have very strong opinions about overtreatment. I am sorry.
-
I don't think anyone should EVER go away. We've all been through too much TOGETHER.
-
Slow.. Very well said..!
-
I guess maybe I missed something?! I didn't notice any stirring, but I haven't been on this thread as long as most, so I am unaware of much of the history.
Kindly offering opinions and insight is one of the reasons I joined this site. The friendship and genuine support was an unforeseen bonus!
Every step of the way on this journey we have options and choices. It would be a disservice not to share what we have learned from our experience. It seems to me, that everyone here supports the choices others have made, even if it isn't the path we would have chosen. Everyone's cancer, health situation, family situation.... everything is so different. I think the only way we make errors is by not asking questions and not supporting each other.... no matter what.
Okay, I think my soap box just collapsed from under me! This added weight stinks!
-
poppy, very well said. Thats the thing about a burden. it gets lighter the more people share the carrying of it. love
-
I'm sorry that someone got upset, I don't know the history either of the thread...but I know sometimes feelings can get hurt. I hope everyone is okay.
I'm beyond frustrated and have decided that I'm not going to think about this newest angle in the BC saga that never seems to end. I'm going to take a break mentally and emotionally from it for a little bit.
My house is a mess and I want to worry about stupid things like house cleaning and laundry for awhile.
((hugs))
-
Ladies.......there was no stirring, just opinions................no one should have got upset........there was no reason to............
I gladly share my experiences with all of you..............in the end don't we all do what we want to do anyway............that is human nature.................I do...........but I enjoy hearing other peoples choices also...............a suggestion does not mean 'do it"......it just means............."this is what I did"............
Could never have made it through the past 4 years without the help, suggestions, ideas, and love I received from "right here"...........you ladies are the best..............
-
I must have missed it. But i will not bow out.. i adore all of u if i offend u i am sorry, i unfortunately say what i think.
-
No one was offended..........its all fine................hugs
-
Good!
Sometimes we discuss silly things, other times more serious things. Especially since we need support from friends who have been there.
-
Blondie, you have no idea how much i love it when you show up and say exactly what you mean!
Firekracker, I am giving you a mental hug for your friend, and I think we should come give that carpet a real bonfire! I wonder if it would make a toxic glow in the dark green cloud?
Edited to add: Ducky, what a lovely little thing you found there!
-
Glad you ladies worked this all out. I was afraid to get in the middle and I was chalking it all up to the SE of the meds....lol. I came to this thread for all of your wisdom, support, ideas, advice, friendship, and laughter, not to mention burn all the negativity.
why can't we be friends.....why can't we be friends....who sings that??
-
