Pain in neck from port suddenly four months later?

I had my port placed four months ago. I get Herceptin every three weeks, the last time was almost a week ago.

When I had the port placed, my neck was sore for a few days. Then all was good. Now, four months later, I am having mild pain in my neck in the same place. Anyone have this happen? Could there be a problem with my port? I scheduled for my exchange surgery next week and then have chemo the following week.

Luckydog, I'm far from an expert on ports, but because of someone else's situation, I would suggest informing your onc right away about the neck pain. Worst scenario, is could be a blood clot starting, which is what the other membere here had.

I certainly hope it's something far less concerning, but on the slim chance it is anything that serious, I wouldn't wait to see if it gets better. I'd want my onc to know about it and reassure me. (((Hugs))) Deanna
