Possible Bone Mets - Please talk me off the cliff

Options

Here is the story up until this point:

Currently 5 years out (in June) - did the full gammut of treatment
Have been having some spinal and rib pain - oncologist ordered CT and Bone scan
Bone scan came back showing a "hot spot" on my scapula- no pain in this area. CT was clear
Onc ordered X-ray and MRI of scapula/spine - x-ray was clear, MRI came back with "Something" in the bone in the scapula.
Oncologist tells me that this same spot lit up (although slightly less) in 2012 on the bone scan and it was not considered metastisis at that time. Spot is still there, 3 years later. No evidence of mets anywhere else in body.
I tell oncologist that I was shocked by an electric fence in the same area where they are seeing the issue about 20 years ago - could this be causing it? (It was a pretty severe shock and I still have a scar). Oncologist says she thinks it could be, calls radiologist who says that it was too long ago and that couldn't be it.

Oncologist said that it is very small (enough that they don't know if they will be able to get a definitive biopsy, but they need to do one. Radiologists were 50/50 on whether it was cancer. I'm a mess.

Please talk me down. Could breast cancer metastisis be stable 3 years without treatment? Wouldn't I have pain by now or other lesions? What else could this be? Has anyone else had positive MRI and Bone scan with B9 results?

Hi Heather - No advice here but will bump this in hopes someone else sees it who can help. Hang in there. I'd be a mess too.

hugs to you. If it's stable since that last scan, I'm thinking it's nothing. Keep us posted

Hi Heather, I hope you had a chance to relax a little. I go with it is nothing until it is something! My MO said that I had a few "shadows" and some "spots" and wants to do more chemo. I'm saying show me. They say it is too small to biopsy. Another roller coaster ride. Hang in there, wait and see before you panic. Hugs, Cheryl

    Hi Heather

    In case this helps...

I had a bone scan that suggested I had a met on my right thoracic bone - T4 - when I was first diagnosed.

Onc wasn't sure so ordered a rescan six months later.

    It was natural bone repair!

Hoping yours is caused by the electric fence or bone repair.

    Best wishes

    Alice
