Local support groups in Worcester area?

edited April 2015 in Managing Side Effects of Breast Cancer and Its Treatment

I am a single mom of 2 children (16 & 12) and have been diagnoses with breast cancer. I have only one family member that lives in Oregon and I'm pretty much on my own with this and my children. Ive had to stop working since I am normally a registered nurse and I am looking to find a support group that would be local to me to help me through this time. I live in the Leominster area in Massachusetts. Any help or suggestions would be great and much appreciated!

    Sorry you are dealing with this on your own. There is a support group for breast cancer is in Harvard, Mass:

    The Healing Garden offers different support groups, each with a different focus (Journaling, Young Women, Metastatic, Breast, Post-Treatment and In-Treatment). Please call 978-456-3532 for information.

    You could call them and see if you can participate.

    There is also a thread here called "Calling all Massachusetts sisters" in the "Help me get through treatment forum":

    thank you barredowl, I will look I I these ideas tomorrow! I'm not too far from harvard or lancaster so thank you so very much!!! I'd love to be able to meet up with another family maybe help eachother out in the process
