Any difference in ductal vs. lobular chemo treatments?

I'm diagnosed recently and tried to read up as much as possible about triple-negative. I thought neo-adjuvant was the way to go when I met with my MO. To my surprise, she said many ILC did not respond to neo-adjuvant chemo and urged me to get mastectomy first. That was when I realized most papers I read did not target patients with lobular TN at all. I felt very discouraged. If chemo does not necessarily work before surgery, why would it work after surgery? She recommended AC followed by T, dose-dense regimen. I would appreciate any insight!! :)

My MO said the studies about chemo post surgery lump everyone together lobular and ductal. I just completed my treatment and am hoping it made a dent in the lobular. There is so much unknown about ILC as it is harder to find since it lurks in the shadows. Perhaps because it is often slow growing that it is less responsive to chemo there might be less chance of it making a difference before surgery? I was happy to just get into surgery and get rid of the tumor and anything suspicious ASAP Wish you well. There is a good thread discussing ILC you may be interested in. My comments are not based on anything I've read, just what has been discussed. Am hoping they will start looking aT the unique features of ILC and how to deTrct and treat it better

Thank you! I'll look them up. I also feel I need surgery ASAP but the date they have in mind for me is more than a month away.
