Thoughts on MRI results and what this means?

Hi all, I've been recently diagnosed with ILC. I've a MX scheduled on Friday. I've been wondering about my MRI results and wondered if anyone else with ILC would have some insight. It showed two nodules 1.1 cm each. These were previously biopsied and were both ILC. The MRI also showed "Fairly extensive central and upper lateral sternum", but this did not have a size associated with it... which has me concerned. Any thought?

There seems to be so little information specifically on ILC and am trying to find my way. Have appreciated all the wonderful people on these boards. All the best to each of you.

I would ask the surgeon if she feels that this information from the MRI comports with the physical exam. In my case, the MRI report spoke of a "tail" coming off of the main tumor, and with the tail, the tumor was the size that the surgeon thought she was feeling. In some cases, the extra areas are false negatives. Hopefully by now you've heard that ILC grows between other cells and doesn't always form a tumor.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will ask. Thinking I will also just need to be patient and wait until the full pathology is in after the surgery that will tell the full story. So hard to wait... as all other decisions rely on that information. During the biopsy, the tech who marked the locations for the radiologist did actually mark that area, but it was not biopsied. The two other locations that were biopsied were on the other side of the breast.
