I'm still looking for an affordable genetic panel. BCBS has denied Myriad and Broca. I have previously tested neg for Brca. These are the prices I know of so far for direct patient pay.

Breastnext / ovanext? - Ambry - $1500

Broca - Univ of Wasington $ 3000

Myriad - MyRisk $1800

Color Genomics $249

Invitae has a panel $1500. Patient pay is $375 down, 99 a month for 12 months.

There's many companies offering comprehensive genetic tests. Here are some of the ones I've stumbled across:

I was low income (cut to part time) going through a county oncology clinic when diagnosed with LCIS on the heels of ovarian cancer surgery. Some of the testing labs have grants for low income women & my genetics doc worked to get me qualified fo a few of those programs

Lucy - I responded to your other post and I am cross posting here. It probably doesn't apply but I want to make certain you know this just in case.

I have 2 mutations of the NF1 gene placing me at high risk for all sorts of stuff that I can now worry about. There is no prevention but I can now worry about something I never knew about before. I received the full panel of tests after my BRCA came back negative. I'm Eastern European Jewish and my mother was adopted. She died from an unknown cancer. Because my mother was adopted and had cancer the insurance company paid 100%. And so, if anyone has missing family history for reasons such as adoption you should make certain it is known as it is a factor in the payment decisions. I really hate it when patients cannot receive the tests and treatment that are advised because of cost. I hope this help someone.

Thanks everyone! My wonderful onc's nurse called and said a sales rep for another genetic testing lab (don't remember the name)thought I could get ins to pay for it and if not the total cost to me would be around $700 which sounds pretty good to me.

Not sure of the total cost, but I just had blood drawn for the GeneRx panel. I got the call from the company that the total out of pocket cost to me will be $226.50. Has anyone had a panel run by this company?
