So Awesome Kathy!

Hi I'm just past 5 years. Although I'm 5 years out, I still worry it's coming back though.
-
Congratulations skipperjipper. Here are some of my infamous speeches I first posted here:
seat belt speech
You don't assume you will get into a car accident every time you get in your car. You do put on your seat belt and drive carefully. Same with breast cancer. Eat right, maintain a healthy weight, exercise, and take your hormone therapy (if prescribed). No reason to think you are going to get mets until you actually have a symptom.shit happens speech
Some people win the lottery and become millionaires too but do you really think that's going to happen to you? Shit happens. Sometimes good shit, sometimes bad shit, but most of the time shit doesn't happen. Don't assume shit is going to happen to you.LIFE
Remember the word "if" is in the middle of the word "life" for a reason. As long as you have life you will always have "what ifs". It's your MO's job to worry about those cancer "What Ifs" -
Congrats SkiperJipper!!!!
Well said lago. It is our nature to worry "what if", but "if" we learn to let go of that... living in the moment is so much sweeter.
-

Catbert.. Congrats.. Here's to many, many more years.!!

Just met with my oncologist today. NO MORE Arimidex! I thought that I would be worried, but I am very relieved. I tolerated Arimidex fairly well for 5 years, but recent hip pain hasn't been fun. There's been so many other things that happened (2 occurrences of lung cancer for hubby, who is now NED), that my breast cancer feels like ancient history.
My daughter just had her first baby last month, so I have a lot of fun in store.
Hang in there everyone!
