MY legs are shaking just THINKing about what you did! THAT is a marathon! That is amazing! How old ARE you? 25? I would not even attempt that. One time I tried jogging a 2 or 5 K.... whatever that is... I got a ride back to the start-line.

Blondie...........CHIT--------5 kids and they can't ---------see anything. This is the first, you've said about the gas i.e. flame stove and oxygen. Where is your case worker. Blondie you could call adult protective services to do an assessment. I know in my county they would have you some place safe--fast. Lot's of people were involved getting you home. One person was supposed to do a home evaluation for safety. I did Home Health for two years. RN initial safety review with admission to HH, if not done by a discharge liason before discharge from hospital or rehab. If home scenario was unsafe we didn't admit and contacted APS's.

If we admitted a patient that was then found to be in a unsafe environment, there was hell to pay. Another nurse did it and then I was next nurse in. Had to report that it was unsafe.  I had one more visit the next day for wound care only b/c SW and county person were working on placement. Never saw her after that. Company Social Worker and county moved her to some place.

Blondie question---everyone here has offered suggestions on how to get out of where you are----what is holding you back from seeking placement  that you can have a decent living arrangement? The twins?

Blondie, I'm befuddled about the care you have received. Doesn't fit in any scenario I know, I've worked in hospital with SW --team effort to get patients home safely. HH same thing. Even in a ambulatory surg center where I asked for orders for HH when doc was not aware of need-- many times. I know the system from many angles------------this is just wrong. Hard for me to conceive.

Call meals on wheels at least that's 2 meals. Do you have a microwave? Healthy choice or Stoffers frozen meals are delicious. I buy them on sale 2$ a meal for when my DH is sick to death of sandwiches. Microwave chunky soups for a meal with bread. Bananas and peanut butter make a pretty good breakfast, no cooking. Instant oatmeal can be done in the microwave. Geez Blondie- vent away. Your kids are clueless.

Mamaray- Your little guy is too CUTE! I would keel over if I went up that many times. I am impressed by your stamina! I am still not over this cough.. takes me 2 hours to hack everything up each morning.. 10 days of this ugh..

Jazzy- the Tiger on the Buddha... love it! Buddha's Birthday April 8th (Japan) various other dates.

    Be well.

Hi MammaRay - great pic of your little bunny man! No ears today I see. I have been to the monument about a million times. My house is about 15 minutes from there, right across Route 30 and take the Richville Drive Exit. I hope you had a lot of fun, one step, one foot and up you go. The museum used to be nice, but I haven't been there in years. Ah memories from home.......thanks!

I hope you had a great evening! Let me know what is coming up next. Cheryl

Blondie- Sass is right on about the discharge folks needing to make sure you have what you need before letting you go home. Since I lived alone when I had my two surgeries in 2012, we talked a lot about who would help me with groceries, and they made sure I had some home health services for about two months with everything that went on. I also had a physical therapist to help with some mobility issues. Even though I was alone through both recoveries, I had everything I needed to be okay.

I think you have mentioned last week you were having an assessment completed? I hope they can offer some solution for you to have a better place to live and be taken care of. Do you know when you will hear something from them on their recommendations?

I am sorry about your DD being so oblivious to your needs. As one who comes from the "but it's all about ME" family, I have learned to put myself first now and not worry about others anymore, especially those who can and do take care of themselves just fine. You put yourself first now too and the kids can take care of themselves. It is a good and healthy thing to say "my needs matter". It's all about Blondie now......

    Wishing your better days sister.

mammaray. - love the pic. Thanks for sharing.

Blondie. I swear I am boxing you up and sending you to me. We can get by together. What one can't do the other can. Hoping you allow some help in soon. At least maybe meals on wheels. Gotta eat to live. Why not get something you can handle then trying to figure out how to cook. Wish I could whip or shake your family. I agree the longer my situation goes on the easier it is for family and friends to not be able to see a positive end. It's not their job to decide for us. Just love us and help us. It's humane. Wish we could stay up late sitting in bed in our Jammie's just laughing. Real out lots laughing where our eyes water. Not the watering you got going on. Everyone needs to be hugged. everyone needs to feel loved. Pm me your address please. I wanna send a goodys box. Anything in particular you love ?

Thanks guy s.  Nothing holding me back n alot, been here 15 years so going through this stuff, who knows what they will do. Have told them i have to move this is too big n i can't   take care of iit. Have to start looking , sas waiting 4 the winter to b over also.

yep it is called cosa spoke with them n they did an assessment over the phone, haven't heard anything, will call them later on n see what the deal is. Meals on wheels is something they have to find out if u qualify  4.

When i left rehab, i signed the paperwork without reading it n they stated family would take care of food prep, cleaning ip house, hygiene none of that is true. Yep the foods n microwave things u mentioned r viable.

i am working on it just slow, sorry.i know what i need to do. Being alone without much support doesn't help either. Again i was supposed 2 go somewhere today, asked 3 people to no avail. Oh well. Dd2 is going to do it later on today. The nurses at chemo spoke with someone about a fund, so they r paying some of my bills 4 1 month, paperwork has to go. I already called cosa, n got food from the church. So i am working on it. I know u aren't  yelling at me to do things. It is 4am and i am still up, even with an aitivan..this just sucks.

    Again sorry

Ok I'll get this started when dh and I moved in together in 1991 we were quite a pair. Hot I must say but totoally opposites about nearly everything. Anyway dh who was just bf then had gone to town and I just got off work waiting table and going to college. The house we bought did not yet have air conditioning. . It was like day 3 I think. As I waited in the insurance rep I went ahead and took my bra off and unbuttoned my shirt completly. We r way out in nowhereville. Trouble is I had cooled off Before ins rep got here and forgot my whole chest was barren. The ins rep was friendly and stayed to chat a while. Dbf came home to such a surprise except he was quitely trying to tell me , while I am woman I don't need your help to pick insurance was not even listening to him. Truth is we got the best coverage for the cheapest price for years to come lol. True story.

    Morning gals!

Blondie.... these gals have a lot of good suggestions...! Only one I can think of is just don't depend on your family to really help you out... I mean strangers would have more empathy! Sounds like you are trying to get help yourself... You can't depend on anyone else, I don't think!

Sometimes our families can be the biggest heart-ache we have. Either the stuff they do, or don't do! And it doesn't matter the reason... You just have to take care of yourself... and not be afraid to ask for help.

We aren't yelling at you as much as being frustrated, trying to help you get help. We are trying not to say much about your family that isn't helping you... but being IN a situation is a lot different than looking in on one.

I wish you could just get a new lease on life.... change everything! Say good-by to all the people who won't or don't realize what you are going through.

But unTIL you get some help, the micro-wave IS a great suggestion! Don't go cookin' on no gas stove! And call "cosa" whoever they are! You need a patient advocate.... Is that what you are talking about?

At MY age, if someone treated me like that it would be called "elder abuse".... How old are you anyway? Don't suppose we could report family, could we?.....

I maybe can't help you, but maybe make you smile....

Blondie- also another suggestion for easy food until you can get something else lined up, are the grocery store delis. Many have pre-made salads, sliced turkey and other meats, sandwiches that are pre-made, etc. I ate out of the deli for a LONG time during my medical treatment. May not be something you will find at a Walmart, but a regular grocery store.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone, belatedly welcome PP home and thank a few people for some great visuals (you can figure out who you are).

Rosie, if the weather's half way decent we're trekking up to the Hulda Klager Lilac Garden in the next couple of days. I'll be thinking of you there.

I'm trying to process some results, make some decisions and still work (not very effectively) so don't have much to contribute but do enjoy hanging out with all of you. Sending good thoughts and prayers for each.

Susan, that's Murphy's law, if it can go wrong, it will.

Here's the table runner, mostly done. I have to trim it at home, then just add binding. It will be a Xmas present.
