knmtwins,
I think the difference is ovarian supression, rather than complete menopause, so I'm on Tamox instead of AIs. MO said I may still have periods on this combo. So far I seem to have stopped. Lupron #3 next week. Ugg If I could get past the nerve pain and HFs I would finally be a happy bunny.

Hi all, popping in to update that I had my exchange on 03/26. Except for being fairly bruised up from the fat grafting, all is going well for the most part. The effexor really seems to be doing the job of keeping the hot flashes at bay - I only periodically have to reach for the Chillow. I lost all motivation to exercise for some reason in the past month. The only exercise I got was from walking the dog, which got me moving but not enough to break a sweat. I think I was stuck in a mental "holding pattern" until I got through this surgery. Once I get the all clear, I hope to get back into some kind of a routine. Best wishes for smooth recovery for everyone.

When I realized I needed to add Annie88, I thought I'd do a little clean-up, on those that didn't have full info on the header. Maybe you didn't know at the time, maybe you didn't tell us, maybe I was too doped up in December, from surgery on the 2nd, to add it… So, I pulled the profiles of those that don't have full info and have updated those that I could ascertain. Just wanted you to know, I'm not stalking, just trying to do some administration as the owner of the topic.
Annie88 I have added you to the first post, AKA 'header'.
katcar0001 I just updated your info on the header with what you decided to do and noticed that you had a lumpectomy in Feb, so added that info also

knmtwins-Thank you for the add!

please add chemo 2/2/15 to my name. Thanks!

Chloesmom - done
Ladies with tissue expanders - bras??? My PS said I could do the Genie bra, so I am for the first time today. I think it is helping with the left side... that TE's tab came undone from the sternum area, so even more of a side boob... What are the rest of you doing? When are your exchanges? Mine is set up for July 2. I will get 1 more fill... I hope it is better than these 'aliens' as a high school friend called her TEs.

For those with TEs or Implants, I just saw this interesting link back to an old post. It is 'glowing' breasts... put two small flashlights to the bottom of your breasts in a dark room and this is what you will see. As I have on my Genie bra, and it took some time to pull it over my head, I won't do it now, ,but hope to remember to tonight. https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/44/topic/819027?page=12#post_4036481

kmntwins - I have been able to wear the Playtex Flex which I purchase at Target and it works pretty good. The only problem I have is that my nipples show through but haven't found anything to help with that as of yet. Tried the gel petals and you just see the round top with the nipple coming through and also tried nursing pads but you see the nursing pads and nipples...sigh... -
@chloesmom - I just started getting fills a couple of weeks ago from my new PS. I am now at 680cc's. The first fill was quite painful as my TE's aren't placed right and they had to stick me at least 5 times on the right side. So they added 120cc's. Needless to say it was a tough week after that. The last time I went in they only added 60cc's but it was a much easier fill. I was supposed to go back last week but decided to take a week in between. She plans on expanding me to 860 cc's and then doing my exchange 3 months later to 800cc implants. -
Lmcqueen see if they can book you for surgery sooner rather than later. Mine did last week and the earliest date they could get is July 2nd. I'm saddened, because I would actually be ready for it the end of this month, so will have to wait 2 months...
-
knmtwins - Thanks! Will do! Sorry you are having to wait....

I only had the one surgery and am flat like a 10 year old boy. Basically am a wimp and didn't want any more pain or procedures. When I wear the Genie bra I step into it rather than pull over head. I also take out the modesty shields and wear them in a Amoena Valetta cami top. In both the bra and cami I put a fiberfill foob as a filler. (the little pillows that came with my post surgical cami with some stuffing removed so they don't dent in when I hug someone')
-
Step into it... I have a big butt, not sure that would work, but I'll try.
-
knmtwins I bought several genie bras. Sam's Club sells them in multipacks. I can also wear my bali sports bra from before. I do pull them on over legs rather than head. Still have pain pulling over my head. As for the bras, I was small before and still am, since I halted my fills at 250cc, and nipples are no longer an issue. I have to admit that part is liberating. Tank tops here I come.
Exchange is not until after mid-July. I'm trying to get in shape first and may have to change PS due to insurance.

Scottiemom11 - " I'm trying to get in shape firs" You are not the first person to say that. Is there a reason I'm unaware of???

Years ago I slipped and fell and injured my lower back (broke my tail bone etc...). About 1.5 years ago my L4/L5 disk degenerated enough to start causing terrible pain. Also, was walking with a cane at one point. Not good since I used to walk/run up to 5k. So last year from about Feb. on I went through three lumbar epidurals. Was supposed to have nerve ablation in Dec. but BC diagnosis in Oct. put the breaks on that. Then spending 6 weeks in bed more or less after BMx left me really week (legs and back in addition to shoulders from BMx). My recovery was more difficult because of my weak back and legs.
So I've been slowly working my way up from ground zero at the gym. I'm now up to 2 miles fast walking on the treadmill and can do decent leg weights on the machines. Nothing like I used to but this is the new norm. Still only able to do 5 lb free weights with my arms/shoulders but at least I can get my arms over my head now.
I'm not sure what my downtime will be with exchange but I figure that the stronger I am going in, the better.
Got my date today. July 27 for exchange.
