Back pain on Herceptin

I have been having mild back pain (worse when sitting or lying down) for several weeks and my doc scheduled an MRI for next week. I had surgery 6 weeks ago and the path report showed a complete pathologic response. I am still getting Herceptin and Perjeta every three weeks. Has anyone else had the cancer metastasize so quickly after a good response to chemo while still on Herceptin. Thanks- this is keeping me up at night.

    How fast is your Herceptin infusion?  I did not have much bone and joint pain during chemo (6 TCH) and my Herceptin was run over 90 minutes when I was receiving all three drugs together.  My first Herceptin only infusion was run over 30 minutes and I had very intense back/hip pain for days afterward.  The next infusion I asked for it to be slowed back down to 90 minutes and had no further problems.  This is not a universal truth for Herceptin - some can get it over 30 minutes and have no issues, but wanted to mention it.  Also, your hormonal receptor info is not attached to your posts, but are you taking any anti-hormonals?  They can cause joint and bone pain also.

    I am getting 30 minute infusions but had no symptoms after the first two. If my MRI results come back negative and the pain continues maybe I will ask for them to slow it down. Thanks
