Sclerosing Adenosis/Radial Scar

Good Morning

I know this has been brought up before but in all my reading about it I don't have a handle on how this affects risk.

I am 62 years old , Gene negative with recent path report on excisional of:

ADH, microcalcifications and radiation scar in left Breast. I understand that I am at high risk due to ADH but, while Surgeon told me no increased risk due sclerosing lesion, reading tells me wildly divergent views on this problem .

Any clarification to be had?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about the radial scar issue, but sclerosing adenosis is benign and only raises your risk minimally. ADH causes an increase in risk, but is only considered "high risk" if you also have family history of bc (in a primary relative), otherwise it is thought to confer a moderate risk.

thanks Anne. That is exactly what I've been told by BS. However , what I see around the web is so confusing. It's hard to know what to make of my family hx in terms of personal risk going forward. All maternal line had either Breast or ovarian cancer with documented BRCA 1. I tested negative for that but looks likely that I will get BC anyway . So I don't know how to consider my personal risk but I sure am concerned
