hello everyone,
the result of biopsy is Invasive ductal carcinoma 3grade.i'm very,very sceard.how dangerous is it for life?how much is survival rate?

    Hi Sophi,

    We're so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but you've come to the right place for some great support!

    There are lots of pieces that make up your diagnosis, and the type of breast cancer and grade are just a small fraction of the big picture. Your "big picture" will be made up of all the pieces of your pathology report, which will come in intervals. You can read about what will be on your Pathology report and what those pieces mean, including grade, on the main Breastcancer.org site's section Your Diagnosis. There's also a great, informative section on Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC), which discusses types of treatment and more.

    thank you :* i've read all this information yet.this result is dangerous i know.our doctor is abroad now and we must wait for him one week.it's awful.tired of being sorry :(

    Hi Sophi, I had my lumpectomy 4 weeks to the day after my biopsy. The moderators are correct that more information is needed. I will be getting the final pathology report this next Thurs to really understand where I am. That is 1.5 weeks after the surgery, 5.5 since diagnosis. It's not unusual. Take the time to read about your diagnosis and breast cancer. If you have a list of questions for your doctor, you will get more out of the appointment and feel more in control. It is very hard to wait. I hope for a good prognosis for you.

    sophi, I also have IDC but mine is grade 1. I am told that is good news but then again, nobody really knows. If you read the boards, some people that on paper looked to have the best prognosis, had recurrence and then, somebody who on paper looked worse, hasn't had any issues. Its a long road, with surgery and always worrying but you sure aren't alone. It seems like everywhere I look, I meet somebody who has it or has had it and I didn't even realize that. The next several weeks will be take up with decisions and moving from one step to the next. Best wishes to you.
