I haven't been here in awhile. I made some truly wonderful friends here that are now angels and i am blessed to have had a chance to talk to. I was dx with DCIS right breast in 2006. Had a lumpectomy and was set free. I have moved across state since then and haven't had another oncologist. In 2013 I felt a lump right under my clavicle on the left side. My mammo showed micro calcifications again but results were benign as well as the u/s of the lump that turned out to be an enlarged lymph node. I was not convinced. I kept up with my self exams and my appointments. The node stayed enlarged but docs were not concerned. Fast forward 2 years, I recently moved and have been busy renovating. In January I discovered a new lump in my left breast and decided to find an oncologist. She said my axillary nodes are enlarged and palpable and the clavicle one is still palpable. She ordered a 3D mammo for April 2nd and an MRI for April 9th. And here I wait. Again.

    always sunny, so sorry that you're facing this. I don't have experience with recurrence but do know others will be along soon to offer input. I'm glad your new Onco is taking this seriously and clearly ensuring you get all the scans you need to sort out and determine the issue you may be dealing with. Good luck with your scans. Perhaps you can be put on a waiting list to get in sooner? do something good for your self, take walks,Yoga  massage  .. what ever will keep your mind busy.

    Thank you so much for the suggestions! My hubby bought me a new laptop today to play games and watch movies so my mind doesn't wander. So sweet! I would love to take walks but this week the weather has been yuck and the mud is too thick. I literally live in the woods. Next week is supposed to be in the 50's and 60's so I will be able to enjoy some fresh air with my 4 legged love (boxer). Until then, pogo.com and netflix will have to keep me occupied.

    wow.. living in the woods sounds beautiful and maybe a tad isolating.  never heard of pogo, will need to check that out. Hope you are ok and what a thoughtful gift from your hubby!

    I have neighbors but not in the traditional sense. I am surrounded by woods and farms. Mostly horse and dairy farms. So peaceful and beautiful. There are always deer and other wildlife in my backyard. Pogo is a website of fun games that are adult oriented. There is the option to chat while playing but you don't have to if you don't want to. I personally like mahjong and canasta. This laptop was especially thoughtful because now I can see my digital films and save them. I was never able to see them before. I only ever got the path reports. Now I can actually see what the docs are talking about instead of trying to picture it in my head. I saw the 2 clusters of microcalcifications and there were a lot. The needle guided biopsy got quite a bit of them but all of them. It actually pushed about 6 of them behind my 1st marker. I can see why my onc was suspicious now due to there being more than 1 cluster plus the 2 palpable enlarged nodes in the other breast. I'm hoping its just a fluke and my scan are clean.

    Thank you bevin! I appreciate that so much. 2 more days until the 3D mammo then 9 more days until the MRI. I'm getting closer and less anxious.

    Thank you pajim! 3D mammo and ultrasound showed concerned area around axillary nodes in my left breast which I was already aware of. Odd that mammo didn't pick up on the calcification clusters that were just there 9 months ago? I find it hard to believe that they just disappeared on their own. Scheduled MRI is next Thursday. Hopefully get more informative answers from that. I also requested to get the full gamut of testing and to leave no stone unturned so that absolutely nothing is missed unless its really good at hiding or just that small. In which case, time will tell on such things should they ever present later.I am positive something is there, just gotta find the right right test to find it. I'm much more confident today than I was leading up til today. I love the support of this group. Round of hugs to the Pink Ladies!
