I have had HER2 testing on both biopsy and surgical samples. Both times, my IHC was equivocal. After the biopsy my FISH was slightly positive ( 2.1, 5 copies) and I was all set to do Herceptin and Taxol.
Today my CISH done on the surgical sample is negative (1.2) using the HER2/Chr17 ratio. I have read this may not be reliable.
Does anyone have any info or advice for me? I guess my doctors will now do an oncotype dx for me to see if I need chemo. My ki67 is high. Grade 3 at first lab, grade 2 at second. Mixed ductal and lobular. 95% estrogen positive and 80% prog. positive, 1.4 cm Stage 1c.

I would instead ask for a Mammaprint test, rather than Oncotype Dx. Oncotype Dx cannot be done on Her2+, but Mammaprint can. Since your Her2 status is unclear I would want the test that can be used regardless of status
