Tightness/Numbness in Chest Area
I had a double mastectomy in Dec 2014. The past few days I've had this weird feeling across the top of my chest. This may sound silly, but I'm not sure if I'm feeling tightness or a sensation of numbness and nerves tingling. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks

Pretty normal. The nerves have a whole lot of healing to do. I am surprised you feel numbness- I feel nothing at all. If you are referring to the area below your collar bone and just above your implants/expanders (not sure if you have either) I do feel in that area. There was the "metal bra" type tightness throughout the tissue expander phase. There was also the sensation of an axe getting buried in my chest in the area I described as having some feeling- but only sporadically. I think it had to do with the strecthing of the muscles and also the tissue expanders smooshing a nerve. I don't get that type of chest pain anymore, as I have my squishies in. The tightness was there right after the exchange, but has all but vanished on my right side. I have a lot on the left, but that is due to being injured two weeks ago- just my luck that a heavy set drunkard lost his balance coming down the stairs and hit me dead on the left prosthetic with his shoulder. So your doing just fine in other words... tightness, tingling, and little lightning bolts of jolts so to speak are very normal and do get better as time goes. Hang in there!

hello! I had implants put in 3 years ago after BMX and TEs. The effected side has been bothering me lately. Achy ness between collarbone and above breast, especially to touch. It's like sore muscles. It's achy under armpit and numbness. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

I wish I could give you some advise. I'm only 4 months out from my mastectomy surgery, so I can't speak about 3 years down the road. I hope you get some answers. Hnag in!

For me it took awhile to stop feeling any tightness or weirdness in general in my breasts. I had a painful expander process though, and even though I woke up from my exchange in relief, I still had a metal bra feeling but that was better than the stabbing knife feeling. It took about 6 months for me for all the sensations to stop, but numbness was the last feeling right before I felt like it all disappeared. Hopefully you are just healing and are almost there!

Scymom65, when you say you had a painful expander experience do you mean from placement to exchange? I am having a lot of discomfort/pain with mine as well. I have my first fill on the the 20th of April.
