I have heard of this before.  I think there may be other threads that refer to it  but they don't talk about the lawmakers support Thank you for posting this.

Oh brother. "Prevention"....good luck with that. I'm appalled at the audacity of the NBCC to make such a statement.

You have to download the pdf. There's a clickable link within the local news story.

"The first of the Artemis Projects® was launched in 2011 and brought together a group of advocates and scientists to take a strategic, systematic yet broad approach to the development of a breast cancer preventive vaccine within five years. A second Artemis Project® on Metastasis was launched in 2013 and focuses on tumor dormancy and intervening in the metastatic process."

So yes, prevention, but with a vaccine. I think this would be great, if it worked.

And the second thing they mention, a project that focuses on tumor dormancy, could be promising as well, and might even have application for those already with mets. I realize none of this will help most of us with mets currently, but I'm happy to see funds spent to keep other women from having to be in this place to begin with. If the beast could be kept at bay, future generations could be spared this game of "whack-a-mole" that we play once we cross over to stage IV world.
