Biopsy today...Very different than my last one

Hi! I originally posted a topic "Confused about MRI results", so I won't bore y'all with a rehash of my background info...

Today I had a biopsy of a mass (calling it a mass for lack of a better word- not a lump to me because I could never feel it) at 11:00 on the outer portion of my right breast. It was detected by MRI and confirmed by ultrasound.

If you read my previous post, it details how I came to have the MRI, but, in a nutshell, my left breast is full of benign (according the MRI and biopsy of one lump last August) palpable lumps. The right side was of no concern until the MRI.

Sooooo....The place biopsied was only about 1 cm. The doctor first tried to get a sample with a small needle, then had to go with a different larger one. He took several samples. When the doctor was finished, he told me it was not a cyst. Then I was sent for a mammogram.

I must say, because this biopsy was very different then my last (Aug), I'm a bit concerned (Didn't even post on this board the first go-round, if that means anything):

Aug biopsy- almond-shaped, palpable lump that moved around quite a bit.

Today's biopsy- roundish, non-palpable something that stayed in one spot.

Aug biopsy- mass stayed the same shape the entire time. You could see the needle go in and out.

Today's biopsy- The mass seems to break up some and change shape. The doc commented that the white specks in it meant he was getting samples. (Good, I guess?)

Aug biopsy- Doctor's attitude after biopsy: It's most likely nothing

Today's biopsy- Me "So, do you think things look pretty good?" Doc "We will just have to wait on pathology."

Aug biopsy- Sent home right after

Today's biopsy- Mammogram after

What are y'all's thoughts?

I'm sorry you're going through this; I know how stressful and angst-ridden this process can be.

Did he place a marker in the biopsy site today? If so, that's probably why you had the mammogram after, as they need to confirm the presence of the marker.

If it was a different IR (or other MD) doing today's biopsy than last time it could account for the different attitude, so I wouldn't read a lot into that.

As to the rest of it, well, I've given up on reading the tea leaves. I hope you get your results quickly and that it's all good news.
