DCIS recurrence

Hello fighters,

In 2013 october i had my breast implants surgery, three months after i found a nodule in my left breast, and i went to check it with a ultrasound and it seems benigne however after three months when i did a needle biopy i came out with a complex papillary problem, so i had my surgery to took it out and tested it. I am 25 now, but when i first got diagnosed i was still 24 ... I had a 1,2x0,7cm aprox papillary ductal carcinoma (stage 0 no metastasis, lymph nodes clean) taken out by lumpectomy last September, not radio or tamoxifen taken afterwords, because it seems a good scenario and i chose not to. However 4 months after it came back, i have another DCIS low grade slightly bigger than last time in the same side and close to the scar of my old one...

Today, i am gonna give it another try, and i choose to have another lumpectomy radio and tamoxifen. I am not sure about my decision but I would never be sure, since different doctors have diferent opinions. Even i went to talk to my previous PS ( i already have breast implants right now) my opinion its that mastectomy and reconstruction are not the same as a plastic surgery, it didn't convince me (i dont like my PS to do it) , my own breasts tissues are small, i have implants, so i hope it will not be seem easily with my implants.

Please help me, i would like to hear your opinions, your experiences and suggestions.. I am a bit confused because i had a choice but obviously if it happens again in the worst case scenario i will have no doubt of mastectomy.

Thank you in advance

Remember that you can always choose a mastectomy later if you are not happy with the results of the lumpectomy/radiation, but you can’t do the reverse ....

Sorry this is happening and best of luck with whatever you decide ....
