Foot and hand syndrome and hemorrhoids?
What the heck is foot and hand syndrome and how can I keep
it from getting worse? And why hemorrhoids when I haven’t had any GI problems?

Cal your MO tomorrow, or tonight!!!! Hand foot is painful, not to be ignored. I had it ALL OVER MY BODY, you need some IV fluids. It happens from your taxol. Wiki has a good explanation, so does Mayo.

Thank you Spookiesmom. MO thought that this was a result of antibiotic for tooth abcess. Changed antibiotic and symptoms are better, though still have redness, itching and numbness in hands and feet. Eyes were really red too, but now better.
I am still afraid to have next treatment of taxotere, both because of reaction and tooth abcess. But MO said all should be well provided my blood counts are OK the day before. I am hoping maybe wait another week until done with antibiotics.
Silly thing is that I am more afraid of seeing myself bald than I was of seeing mastectomy scar. Still have a little hair, but a couple of days I expect it will be gone. Wore a hat to work yesterday because getting so thin. There are a lot of ecsentric people where I work so I fit right in.
Please excuse my spelling.

I had 4 a/c, and it was rough. MO said the Taxotere would be easy peasy. Maybe for most it is. My reaction was so bad he stopped all chemo.
If you feel ANY thing out of ordinary during or after the infusion, speak up right away. I didn't. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad, I don't know.
Best wishes.

the hair thing. I had a wig, I hated it. It's hot here in the summer, the wig was itchey. So I went topless most of the time unless I was out in the sun for more than a few minutes. Then I wore a ball cap.
It is a shock with no hair. Think of the time and $$$$ you save!!! And no legs to shave!!! Or pits!!!!
It will come back. Maybe curly, a different color, but it will happen. One day you will be out somewhere and feel an unfamiliar sensation. The breeze ruffling your hair.
You made it through.

if you are having the peeling from the hand and foot syndrome, there is a lotion called underlying smooth (packaging looks like a cow). It was the only thing that kept it under control for me. You can get it in many drugstores like cvs or Walgreens.

Thank you nbnotes. I will try it.
Did you have any trouble with your eyes? Mine got really red same time as hands and feet and now sting/hurt a lot, though no longer red.
Really nervous at thought of treatment this week....
