Plastic Surgeon with no results pictures?

I have read good things about a ps named Dr. Momoh at University of Michigan. I'm considering him for DIEP flap. Per unoversity policy, they do show pictures of results. Doesn't this seem weird? How am I supposed to judge his work without after pics

    Hello jlstacey. That is weird. I don't know about that PS as I am in California. I had DIEP in December. I was able to see lots of pictures of their work before deciding on PS. Maybe you can ask to speak to former patients about their experience with the surgeon. I was able to speak to 2 former patients and that helped me feel more comfortable with my decision. Also ask how many Dieps he preforms, what is his flap failure rate, does he preform the surgery on his own or with another experienced microsurgeon? This is a big surgery and you have every right to feel confident and comfortable with the surgeons skill. I wish you the best!     My PS did not have pictures either. My BS highly recommend him and I met with him twice and really liked him. Since he was the only one in my area who did DIEP, it was either go with him or travel. I didn't really have the money to travel so I took a leap of faith and went with him, even though I could not see pictures of his work. He did a fantastic job!

    Did you get any patient testimonials?  I had Dr. Wilkins at U of M do  my surgery.  They put me in touch with a few patients.  I called them and talked with them.  I did not have a flap procedure though....I was not a candidate for that.  I had to have implants.
