Hi everone, I was Dx with invasive intraductal carcinoma back in January , I was scheduled for masectomy on3/10/15 and to my surprise I woke up with my breast intact. I received my Dx of IBC with Mets to the skin and one of my lymph nodes, she Bx 10 others and sent me to MO the next day to start neoadjunctive therapy . My prognosis went from 90% to 50%. They also sent me for all these scans (bobone, aabdomen, ppelvis and chest as well as a portacath placement. I will get those results in 2 days.
I will start neoadjunctive therapy starting Monday next week. So scared it won't respond witch I been reading that it can, my MO is hopefull. I will receive dense AC 4Tx cycled in 8 weeks then Paclitaxel weekly for 12 weeks. I will also receive Herceptin but he will later decide if he will do it before or after my masectomy .
So here I go ladies I may have to come back to forum to help me cope with the treatments I will be receiving .

Also can anyone reassure me that there is a chance of living long term after this type, any long terms out there?

- I am not Stage IV but Stage IIIc and 5 1/2 yrs since IBC DX - I'm still here, NED and loving life! How long will I live - I don't know (there are no guarantees - period). I'm 68 now and still plan on outliving one of my G-mothers and 3 of my GG -mothers who all lived to mid/late 90's and VERY active .
Neoadjuvant 4 DD A/C were not bad at all. 12 weekly adjuvant Taxol were not as nice. My TX plan was different than most as I did both neoadjuvant and adjuvant Chemo.

I'm stage IV IBC and I'm still kicking after 3 1/2 years. I've just had taxol (Abraxane). It's not too bad, I guess, looking back, but I sure didn't like the experience at the time. Actually I've had Abraxane twice and the second time was easier than the first.
