Nipple Tattoos

I just joined this forum today, because I am an artist ( graduate of the Ontario College of Art ) who just finished a year apprentice in paramedical tattooing and is specializing in 3D areola and nipples. I love doing it so much and am floored by the results. You really can get an amazing nipple/ areola with the right tattoo artist. I originally started in permanent makeup but because of my art background I found I was drawn to areola lol..I no longer do the makeup side except eyebrows .I have been exploring techniques to build a true life like areola /nipple and want to share this with you ladies. My service isavailable to everyone, as my prices are 1/3 the going rate and I plan on keeping them that way.

So on to the tattoo

You will talk with your artist about shape and colour, and they match the size/colour accordingly to your skin colour and Breast size. I like to use a photo from your surgeon of your original areola/nipple, so that when you are done you feel like you again. This is not necessary though. Some woman opt for new sizes or colour but I feel colour best suited to your natural colouring always looks the most natural. The artist will then draw on a nipple/areola for reference to tattoo from. I use only 4 dots and free hand my areolas/nipples. It depends on the comfort/style of the artist. I have had ALOT of experience in the drawing dept lol...

Also the type of machine means a lot. I use a traditional coil tattoo machine...a lot of paramedical tattoo artists don't because they are big and heavy but they really are the best and offer the best results because they implement the pigment into the skin the best but can be awkward to use and take a lot of training! A lot of people use rotary machines or the " pens" which are also great and ( light) but it will not give you long lasting results but you should get a year or two before it starts to fade depending on your skin, care and artist. This just means more touch ups, more often than with a coil machine

The artist may use topical solution to minimize pain but most woman have very little to no sensation so this is not necessary. I never use any as it constricts the capillaries and contradicts what I am trying to do. The tattooing its self should take about 1-1.5 hours at most. I like to work in 2 sessions 6 weeks apart for layering and building of colour and fine details to create planes for a true 3 dimensional look.

The artist will then clean the area well and bandage you. The bandages should be removed within 24 hours. Clean bras should always be worn, and loose clothing for the first week. Care should be taken during showering, using a water barrier cream to avoid bacteria if there are scabs but a good tattoo artist will have minimal scabbing, if any at all. There will be some slight skin flaking and sluffing in the first 10 days.

You will lose 15-40 percent of your colour within the first month. Theartist will book you an appointment to see them 4-6 weeks after the initial work for consult.

It's a huge decision but a good one. My clients tell me they are sooo pleased that they did it!

Hello to all my new sisters!! I am new to this site! FarmerLucy and I have become friends here in Oklahoma!! I just had my "Vinnie's" done 2-5-2015. He was the most wonderful person ever. I will say it was more than worth the trip to see Vinnie Myers in Finksburg. This was a longtime coming as I have had many complications with my surgeries. I am so glad to be at the near end of this journey. I will be having some fat grafting done in June 2015. I love my "Vinnies's and my husband said they are gorgeous. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!!

I'm happy to say that I got my Vinnies on January 8th, 2015. I waited six months for that appointment and it was worth every second! (I still find mysef smiling involuntarily whenever I catch a glimpse of them in the mirror.) It's absolutely amazing how much of a psychological difference those two little tattoos can make. Vinnie is not only a master of his craft, but a really interesting character as well. You'll get more than your money's worth while sitting in that chair!

kingster, my "Vinnie's" were a total of $800. Insurance did not reimburse, but I really wasn't planning on that. My insurance did state that it would have covered $216 of the first one if done in network, but would not cover the second one at all since done on same day. Insurance companies are ridiculous. (If done in a PS office insurance will usually cover) In PS office you will not get "Vinnie's." I did take my before pictures with me so he could see size and color. We did vary some from my pictures as my areols were very light. He said I would not need any touch ups as they would not fade. I am so happy and love getting quick glances at them. It has done wonders for my self esteem and I finally feel whole. I used to say I had just two Camel humps (I collect any thing Camel related) or Barbie Boobs!! Now I have Breasts!! (.Y.) hehe

Thanks Pink!! You had so many surgeries, wow. Do you have implants now or tissue recon? I already feel as if I have had too many. 3 surgeries since JULY. I am so happy to hear about your Vinnie's and that they don't fade. I better start saving my $. It's hard to save when I am paying so much out of pocket for copays and deductibles. I do feel super fake right now and a bit depressed. Maybe when I get my Vinnie's it will change too. Thanks. Have you ever had fat grafting? My ps keeps telling me I will need it. Yet another surgery, ugh.

Wow, you have been through so much. So, would you recommend fat grafting then? I saw a Lipo video and it sure looks gruesome. I was hoping to not have holes in my chest and abdomen:( But right now, I am full on top and flat on bottom, as if someone turned a natural breast upside down and stuck it on my chest. I had nipple recon and one round of tattooing via my ps. Nipples are great. Tattoos are ok. He says it isn't his strong suit and he doesn't feel the hospital has the best tattoo equipment.

So I'm happy but I think I am going to do a version of the 3d to really perk them up. I'm on then wait list for NOLA with Vinnie but way down so probably won't happen there at least not this year. I'm going to also call to check on dates available at his place this year. Might also check out the Chicago guy. A lot closer to me.

On fat grafting...I love it! I've had it twice....once with a lot and once with tweaking. Recovery isn't awful.You are really sore and bruised and have to wear a compression garment 24/7 for six weeks ( at least that was my length)

Hi Kanada. I was glad to read your post. My exchange surgery is next week so now thinking ahead to nipples. I am a swimmer so was wondering abt the effects of chlorine on nipple tattoos. The chlorine is hell on hair color so I figured would be on tattoos as well! Rats! If you stay out of the water for a time after you get the tattoos, is that enough or is there long term continued fading when you get back into the pool? This whole process is a risk-benefit exercise!!! Seems we can't have it al.

my tattooing hurt like hell. Some parts were ok, and then he would hit an area that was hugely painful.

I got my Vinnie in NOLA two months ago and I love it. I paid $400 and UHC paid some as well but it was out of network. I do have Aflac but haven't submitted it - I didn't think to ask for an itemized receipt. I've seen other comments on that - some say Aflac rejected it and someone said they covered mileage but not the tattoo.

robin- mine was done by my plastic surgeon. He let me use EMLA cream and then when it was painful used a little lidocaine. Vinnie won't let you use any of that. Just FYI. I am going to go to him for the icing onthe cake, lol

Hi Ladies, I am new to this thread coming from the Exchange one. It's been 5 months so I am ready to think about tattoos. Has anyone used one of Vinnies partners? I understand it is a long wait for Vinnie . His partners in Maryland must be petty good or Vinnie wouldn't have them in his practice, right?

Diane - Paul did mine and did a magnificent job! He is wonderfully kind and even called me at home to check up on me a few weeks after the tats. I was able to spare one nip during BMX and the tat is an amazing match! I recommend Paul Bessette in Vinnie's shop whole heartedly!
