So.. I had an appointment today with my BS.. He has given me the paper work for my mammogram and breast ultrasound in August.. But I'm upset because I saw he has included the CA15.3 tumor markers test.. Everything I've read seems to say not to do it as it causes so much anxiety... I suffer terrible anxiety as it is... :-(
-
I heard there R lots of false positive on that test
If u feel uncomfortable tell UR dr.
Hey it's ur body...who made him the boss of it?
Plain and simple just say no
-
It was my pleasure Kracker. Hope your eyes get better soon! I'm glad you're gaining weight. I can see why with those tasty treats. The batch we made is gone already.
Lucy, I'm with you. I get lots of anxiety too when it comes to tests. I think we probably all do. Come August we will all be in your pocket. Once they are all done and it's behind you, we will throw a party to celebrate!!
Thinking of you this morning Jo.
You're welcome glennie!!!

lucy - I concur that the marker tests have a lot of false positives which could be from anything according my mom's Onco. My mom had the test in the middle of treatment, it came back positve, doctor redid it in 2 weeks and it was negative. Yes, a lot of stress and anxiety. Doctors just don't understand because they look at things clinically and not as if we have emotions. I will tell you this funny story to make you laugh. At one point my PS had to deflate my TE's in order to do some debridement of my skin and restitch it so it healed better. Of course, he doesn't tell me the shock of what I'm about to see to prepare me. I look down and I start crying because the emotional part of my brain can't reason yet with seeing how deformed my boob looked. I go to see my BS in a couple of days and she tells me how my PS was texting her how emotional I was. So I said to her you should ask him how he would have felt if he went to the doctor and they deflated his scrotum without warning. She almost fell on floor laughing.
-
mjh1, that was a good one!They just don't understand.
I have 5 very close women to me that had breast reductions and think its the same thing, It's not!
Love Robin
-
Too funny mjh!! hahahaha
No one can truly understand unless they've gone through it.
No cure for stupid.
-
slow - at least I can laugh about it now. So I'll throw into the bonfire all the incensitive things doctors do but we better watch out for a wildfire. -
Mjh.. HaHaHa.. Good for you saying that.. They don't understand !!
Do any of you girlies have the CA15.3 test ?
Crap.. Anxiety has got me so bad.. and I don't have to do it until August.. :-(
-
My MO does tumor markers eveyrtime I go to her.............never paid much attention to it.....guess if it shows a problem I will.........;until then I don't need that anxiety..........my life is nutty enough.....
-
this reply belongs on the stupid thread
Me 5 yrs...don't no my tumor markers
Don't even no what they mean
Guess what
I don't care either
I always felt knowledge is power...well between the gf and BC my brain is on overload
And I despise drs.
End of rant

Good Afternoon Pinkies - Had my annual mammo this morning and all is well for another year. I can check that one off the list. I should get the results by the end of the week. No worries. I am positive everything will be just fine. Thanks for all who attended the pocket party. You are all a noisy bunch that early in the morning. LOL!!!!!
Lucy - I haven't heard a lot of good things about that test. If you are uncomfortable, let your doctor know and don't have the test. It is your body and you are the one in control of it. My MO doesn't do tumor markers when I go - says most of them are unreliable.
-
jo - glad all went well.I have to go for a transvaginal sono next month. I don't suppose all you ladies want to attend that party....lol
-
Jo,, glad all went well!! Sorry for all the noise,,,mjh,, we will be in the waiting room for that one!! Not your pocket,,,,
-
Yay Jo! Glad it's over for another year. I tried to keep the noise down, but you know how they all are when they get together.
Lucy, I had tumor markers done right at the beginning of my diagnosis. My test was normal (go figure). I haven't had them done since. I don't think my facility checks them regularly. In fact, I haven't had a blood test in a very long time, although I am due because of the meds I'm on for RA.
mjh, ABSOLUTELY! We will all be in your pocket. Just let us know the day. I'll make some drinks with cute umbrellas.
-
mjh - Of course we will have a pocket party for you. Just let us know when to be there. Looks like Slow is bringing the drinks, now all we need it some food.
-
shouldn't it technically be called a VJJ party??? LOL
-
Actually.. We should all go out to lunch with Mjh after she has her tests.?? We need to choose a classy restaurant.. And we can all dress to the nines for the occasion!!
-
LUCY - I think I'll even get a Brazillian wax for the occasion....ooh, la la....lol -
BaHaHa 😊
-
-
I'll be there Mj
But
I'll be bringing my own food
All home made
I'll share my goodle
