HELP! Thinking of changing to AC-T after 1 cycle of TC.

I was diagnosed with multifocal IDC (12 tumors with the largest being 3.8mm), grade 3, 1/9 node micro-metastasis, ER+, PR+, HER2-. Had mastectomy and ALND. I went to see 6 oncologists, 5 of them recommended TCx4 and 1 recommended AC-T. After a painful deliberation, I went with TCx4. But after 1 cycle of TC (2nd schedule for this Friday), I am second-guessing myself and wonder whether I should switch to AC-T because of my multi-focal diagnosis (12 tumors) and my age (36). My oncologist said he has never encountered this. Does anyone know if it's possible to change regimen during the treatment? Thanks a ton!

lemon I have not heard of the situation you describe, but I am "bumping" this thread to the top of the active threads so hopefully someone else can chime in with answers. Hoping you hear from someone soon!

Lemon, I was planning on 4x TC almost one year ago. After round 1 I didn't handle it so well and was hospitalized on Easter last year for 5 days. I was switched to 3 rounds of AC followed by weekly taxol. I did 9 weeks of T...I was given credit for one round of Taxotere so didn't have to do the full 12 taxol.

It is possible to change so don't let that be your deciding factor. Good luck to you

I had multifocl tumors...just 2. I am starting Ac+T next week. I had TC a little over a year ago; this is a recurrence. You can switch; discuss it with your MO and a second opinion at an academic medical center would be a good ida. The can advise your MO andyou an still do treatment with your MO

I had to switch though a little differently than you. I started with TAC and didn't handle the first round well. My neutrophils dropped to .4 even with neulasta. My onc immediately switched me to AC + T. I did 3 rounds more of AC and 12 weekly taxol. I didn't get credit like mmtagirl did (boo) even though I had taxotere in the first round. My onc always told me we could switch treatments at any time.

Thank you all for your helpful advice! I will discuss with my oncologist and see what he thinks... Wish all of us the best!
