Keep us posted and try not to imagine the worst (ha, I know how hard that is).

I have to say, I am an extremely "high strung" type and have a lot of "issues" giving me anxiety when it comes to health, but MRIs just never bothered me. Maybe because I worked at GE when MRIs were being created and they needed guinea pigs to see how imaging was working. I loved it. I fell asleep every time. When it was time for my MRI for real, it didn't phase me at all. And I do get claustraphobia but it just never occurred to me to get upset. (Boy, I wish I could do that for all my other health stuff). Funnily enough, the machine broke down when I went back the second time, for the biopsy. THe techs all freaked and apologized. They said they could re-do the whole thing when it was fixed. I simply asked how long to fix...1-1/2 hours later....yup, I laid there for the full time and slept.

Hi Kar123, vlnrph and Wallycat. Thank you all SO much for reading my posts and responding to me. You have no idea how much this helps. It really is true that BCO is saving my sanity right now.
Kar123: I have taken xanax couple nights since the ordeal started. Those 3AM wake up calls are dreadful. I have to take something to be able to go back to sleep. I am mostly worried about how this will affect my 9 yr old son. He is still such a baby. There I go again, worrying about a future that may not be.. I have to stop doing that.

vlnrph: Thank you SO much for letting me know that I can wiggle!! I didn't know that you can do that intermittently. That will be very helpful. I just couldn't imagine how someone stays perfectly still for 30 - 45 min! Yes. Though I dread all these testing, I'm glad also for many reasons.

Wallycat: My cat Strider helps me stay calm. We adopted him from a local shelter only about a month ago, but I feel like he's been part of our family for years. He's a really cool cat. I hope to stay cool like him during the MRI. I will most certainly let you know how it all goes. I assume I won't get the results till couple days after the MRI, not including the weekend. Hate Friday testing!!

I really really really appreciate all your good wishes. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

I didn't move a muscle during mine. I was SO scared I would have to do it again. lol. I REALLY focused on the song I was listening to. They played one song I had hated but I zoned in on every word and LOVED it.

That would be my number 1 fear, even above being claustrophobic: having to do it again! I will have take my xanax beforehand and try and focus on something relaxing. Thanks Trvler for your tip!

Good afternoon to all the precious members. I just got the call from nurse at the BS office for my MRI results. Just to recap, I felt a thickening on my left breast at OBGYN which lead to diagnostic mammo, ultra sound and then a trip to BS. BS then ordered bilateral MRI(with and without contrast) last Friday. The results show no abnormality. I have not spoken to the doctor herself and wont' till tomorrow. I think this may mean 6 month follow up for 2 years since I had BI-RADS score of 3(mammo). Relieved but will see what the BS says tomorrow as per nurse. I assume she MAY recommend biopsy but I'll take one step at a time. Thank you so much ladies for all the support so far and I will post again when I hear from the doctor. I have begun taking breast selfies(kept private to myself only :-) and a breast diary to keep track of any changes, ie., where it hurts how breast feels etc. I hate the fact that I waited so long to familiarize myself with my own breasts. Big lesson for me.

I am SO happy for you! And thank you for reporting back. I know a lot of people get good results and don't think to report back. I am sure I can speak on behalf of many of the ladies here when I say how happy it makes us to see a good outcome!
