Triple Negative and Checking in at Seven Year Cancerversary

Seven years ago today, while seven months pregnant, is when I noticed the hardness in my breast.

I'm here living life the best I can, thankful for each day. Working full time, raising two kids and helping my sick mother. There are many days I feel that I just can't take on another thing - and if only I didn't have to manage cancer my life would be perfect.

I understand how important it is for other 3Ns to see this - when newly diagnosed it feels as though we have such few options. But there is hope for triple negative stage four, and thanks to research that hope is getting bigger every year.

Wow - seven years is fabulous for anyone, and to hear it from someone with TNBC is even more motivating!  You indeed have a full plate, with raising your children and looking after your mother.  Please try as much as you can do look after you too, although sometimes it sounds so much simpler than it is.

Please accept my heartfelt congratulations and admiration!

Ditto what Bestbird said!! So happy you shared and it gives so many hope. Sounds like you don't have time for cancer to slow you down. And do remember to take care of yourself ... it can be easy to put it aside with so much going on in your life. Wishing you seven more years of good living.

Its nice to see your story, my daughter was stage 3 Triple negative, and pregnant at the same time, and since has had a boy and a girl , her greatest fear is the cancer coming back, so to be able to give her hope, that if she has a reacurrance, she can still hang in and fight it, I wish the best for you, and its great to be able to celebrate seven year. Congrats.

So enjoying your responses and encouragement. And Surfdreams, what was with that expiration date, anyway? Does no good to believe in those.

that is so great! It's very encouraging to read of long term TNBC Stage IV survivors. I'm not even 6 months in yet, so loved to read this.

Have you been in active tx the whole time ? It's hard to imagine being on chemo for that long.

    2017: Year Number Nine.

Going to be "celebrating" by going skiing with my family - exactly what I was setting out to do the morning of discovering the lump.

Baby girl will be nine in a couple of months. She thinks she's a "tween"!

    Strength to all of you!

    Year number 10.

Ten years ago this weekend I felt the hardness while seven months pregnant.

It snowed like 3 feet in central Vermont this week, and I can't wait to get there this weekend.

My baby girl, who is fearless and just rocks confidence on her skis, confided last weekend that a: I am her favorite person to ski with and b: she now understands what cancer means. She always knew that mom "had cancer" but never before understood the fear that goes along with it. Broke my heart to hear her say it, but it's a conversation that was inevitable now that she's almost ten.

I just keep juggling the bad days and work on making memories...

WOOHOO! I would say that 10 year celebration is a big one, but they are ALL big! Congratulations. My son went skiing in NH today and told me that he conditions were fantastic. They got 39 inches in the past two days. Bundle up this weekend. It's going to be chilly in VT. Have fun.

I look forward to seeing your post next year.

    Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Seriously Fantastic to you long-term survivors!!! Huzzah!!!!

For triple-negative, keep immunotherapy on your radar and also the CDK7 inhibitors in development look really good for TNBC, tho still in early trials! Lots of hope!! Congratulations, this made my day!
