Everything seems to have gone well, but I have to wait now for results. I was home by 4 pm and felt good, a bit groggy but way better than I expected...good drugs I think ;-)
I slept reasonable well last night and feel a bit like I've been kicked this morning but I haven't taken any pain killers yet so I think I'm doing good.
I know there's a lot father to go on this roller coaster but for now I'm just relieved to have 'it' out... I'll worry and dealing with anything further another day.
Christine, I wish you well for Monday. It's scarey but it's good to get to the other side. :-
-
Catsrus- Glad to hear that you are doing well! Rest and take those pain meds! Hope your recovery goes well!
-
Christine - good luck on Monday! I read on another thread on here that talked about a "pocket party." I don't know all the details, and hopefully it's 'ok' to borrow it, but the general idea seems to be that we are all going to make ourselves tiny and jump in your pocket and go with you on the day of surgery for support. The other ladies talk about bringing snacks and drinks to the party. If anyone else has more details on this, please post in case I am not explaining properly. I think I'll be bringing the chips and guacamole...anyone else coming?
Catsrus - glad your surgery went well! Since I'm just thinking of this "pocket party" stuff, we'll have to come to your pocket for the after party. I'm feeling like I need some gluten free banana muffins, so please pardon the crumbs!
-
hahaha Mel, let's get the party started! Surgery went well, I am feeling much better than I expected. I was home at 4 pm same day and so relieved that 'it' has gone..hopefully every trace but results will be a little while. For now I feel better anyway. I haven't taken anything today and I am not in any pain - I actually haven't taken much through the day though I take at night. I do have some swelling which I think is related to the SNB. Uncomfortable rather than painful.
Right party time, can we only bring good stuff ? I'll bring the margaritas! :-)
-
You had a mx and came home the same day with no pain? Wow! That's great. I want to be you.
-
Catsrus- it's been a rough day...those margaritas were strong!!!
I'm so glad that you are doing so well - that's awesome!! Just make sure to take it easy and not do too much even though you are feeling good. I hope you have a super speedy recovery and good results!!

g youretting ready for my lumpectomy tomorrow...antiseptic shower and begin my fast. Been a busy day pre - surgery workup, our church served lunch to the carnival workers for our cities yearly spring festival....it was so neat to talk with them...so many from South Africa...interesting stories. No other city or town on their route serves them....what a missed opportunity....their business manager thanked us and said they all look forward to coming. Then shopping for food and doing a crochet project. It was a good day and I am in good and hopeful spirits. I have many friends who are breast cancer survivors praying for me and giving me helpful information. The best you all in your recoveries and upcoming surgeries.
-
Best of luck today, TX! Hoping you have an easy recovery. Report back how you are doing when you can.
-
Txfreckles- Praying you are doing well after your surgery! May you feel well and have a quick recovery! Hugs!
-
u sound very similar to me. Same size. Although don't know why since my lumpectomy was done Mar 2 that I am still waiting for report on hormones
So felt stunned. Still do. I had an Oncotype test and am waiting for those results
-
mel - you got the pocket party down perfectly - including the crumbs! It is great to share support...To all who had surgery, I hope you are feeling well. To those who are scheduled, sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.
Waiting is hard - for surgery, or for results. Patience required...
I found that bringing an iPod wherever I had to wait really helped.
It is spring - the season of new life and renewed hope! -
Joan - glad I explained the pocket party correctly!
Tx - hope your surgery went well and you are on your way to a speedy recovery!

Hi all...I am 2 days Post surgery...doing very well...lumpectomy went well said my surgeon, good clean healthy margins...no pain...a little numb on the back side of my arm from taking a lymphnode or two. The only thing driving me crazy is the tape around the drain. Going Wednesday for removal of the drain and to find out what is next.
Many prayers from all and all so greatly appreciated. I am a strong believer in prayer and again thank you.
-
Tx - so glad you are doing well and that you had good margins and have no pain! Sorry to hear the drain tape is driving you crazy - I thought the drains were absolutely the worst part and couldn't wait to get them out. Sending prayers your way that the tape will start feeling better and the days will speed by until you get it out on Wednesday and that the appointment and your next steps will go well!

Thank you mel147 had a good nap this afternoon....and rest of the time it had been mind over matter concerning the drain....small small matter. Best to all and God Bless...

5th day after surgery and I have hit the WALL...I HURT, I am MAD and I have been weepy all day.
My armpit is numb and hurts like HELL. The drain was pulled out and all 10 toes curled violently to the floor.
-
Oh, god, Tx. I am so sorry. Do you have some strong pain meds?

I am better today, so much better today. Thank you for your concern trvler.....the sun is up even though it is raining, but I do feel better and in a better frame of mind....ready to attack this breast cancer. Fear of what I don't want to face is a powerful thing.
Thank you all for letting me rant......ya'll are lucky I deleted most of yesterdays angry rant...:)
Take care all and God Bless us all.

Oh, I am so glad you are feeling better. Don't worry about ranting. If you can't rant here, where CAN you rant? We understand.
-
Tx - I am so glad you are doing better today - I hope that keeps up! As Trvler said, rant away!! When I had the first drain removed it was absolutely horrible!! I was expecting that for all of them, but the other three all came out much easier. Do you have more drains to come out or are you all done with them? Hang in there and take it one day at a time and you will get through it!!!
-
