Smarrty, Oh my, Ds is on the world class level, you must be so proud. Twenty questions --kind of? When did he show the interest?. How did you support it--mind and money? Was his interest an early or late development i.e child, teens, early adulthood?
Explains why he can just pick up and go to Australia. He can do his art anywhere.
Where did he study? Any mentors? What's he think of House of Bauhaus? Frank Loyyd Wright? My two favorites. I.M Pie? Another favorite. He obviously can create any design concept that he wants----and creates his own--oh my..............
We so wish our children do right. Your DS is going to be historical, WHAT FUN.
Houses that have his designs will be listed as ":______ X(whatever he created)by his name. Even in a future time if the property is torn down to put up a high rise or make a parking lot, his iron work will be salvaged and auctioned as a work by DS.
Well, Smarrty-----Oh girl-----Oh my----FUN

Went to lunch today, we were talking so much we forgot to eat--Gifted the glass to Dear Cousins(DC) daughter. Dear cousin said she wouldn't be interested b/c she is a minimalist. DC's DD was thrilled. She said with great warmth that when she used them she would think of me. Caught her mom right of guard.
To thrifters this next thing is ROTFLOL--DC's Dh Has been againsts all the gifting to DC. DC's DH is not happy when I bring in a box.
At The end of the visit, he whispered "No more, we have enough".......a few seconds later he said
" If you can find any chairs like this?"

MamaRay--- What is up with Jacob? Don't hold back. I can help. Majorly with referrals. But need the exact diagnosis they gave Jacob. L&H&P's -
Mama what hospital are you working through------------???? -
Mama not the know it all Pita, but good at the questions....Please, say what's going on
-
Okay, I was at Akron for 21 years---- Akron childrens has everything---What's going on -
Mama -----I worked at Akron General-AGMC----Had much contact with Akron Childrens----superlative hospital.....always they were away ahead on children's care. One of the superlative features was they were in contact with other hospitals to seek out answers----loved that-----what do you feel about what's going on? -
Mama who was his PCP--name him-please----I've been gone along time from Akron, but never know, I might be able to say the doc was a problem back then. You can PM it. -
Mama-"kids'" hospital in Akron is amazing. As was AGMC and ACH. The three hospitals were so innovative and competitive. Which lead to so much.
Again what I loved about "kids' was it's wiliness to seek out others knowledge. Way ahead of the time. Chidrens hospitals are not territorial. They would direct to other facilities if the need was there.

Goodness, lots to catch up on. Greetings all!
Chevy--I sometimes get into with my mom. And sometimes she and I step on each other's toes. I know I have hurt her feelings at times. But I always feel sorry about that later and I'm really grateful for my mom. Even when my pride gets in the way of listening to her wisdom, deep down I am listening more than she knows. I'm sure that you got through to your dd more than you know. And I'm sure that no matter what, she loves you. That's my daughter to mom perspective. As for me being the mom--when I have something to say, I say it. I don't care if my kid thinks I'm putting my nose where it doesn't belong. I know I'm speaking out of love and I'd rather share my thoughts and hope it helps, than keep my mouth shut and risk not saying something they needed to hear. In other words, I think you are a loving mom who did the right thing by speaking up. I'm sorry it went sour. You don't deserve their reactions. I hope everything smooths over soon.
Smaarty--I am loving the metal art pics. I especially love the banister(?) with the fan-like pattern in it. Beautiful.
Jazzy--Have a wonderful trip.
Going to try to actually sleep tonite. Sweet dreams everyone.

-
Missed some things while I was writing my last post. I always do. Just want to add a note to MammaRay--Thanks for the update on your little guy. He will be in my prayers.
-
MamaRay-----need to go to bed---------PM son's dx if you don't want to post on board' Depending on dx. May suggest financial help. You are in a very good hospital with docs that are very good.....
Where do you live near or in Akron-------major roads. PM

Morning gals! Thanks Mombie.... I know... DD and I are totally opposite. I was always the quiet one growing up... and never said anything back to anyone, because my Brother and I would get spanked.... even when we would tell Mom..."We just saw Dad's car at Tony's"....(a bar) Hah!
Dad would always stop there on his way home after work... or at his "friends" house... But Mom would start screaming at him the minute he walked through the door... And we would run, but always get caught and get spanked for telling... Or she would spank us for something, and then would tell Dad what we did, and HE would spank us again.... AND the dog, because he would go nuts when they hit us....
It's kind of funny now, because we lived through it...
.... But that's why I would never argue, or fight, or even raise my voice when we had kids, because I knew how much it hurt the kids.. I just always thought we were the happiest family, even though the drinking became a major problem.... I thought I was handling it.... but it left bad memories with the girls. So I hear about it from the oldest one... What I SHOULD have done.... at least when she is mad about something....... But I just did what I thought was best, at the time.
Just makes you feel like crawling back in the little mouse hole..... like I did when I was a kid....
MammaRay... Hope your little guy is doing better.... Sass really knows what she is talking about.... I sometimes print off what she says, so I can refer to it later...
Smarty! I can't believe how talented your whole family IS!!!! That is a God-given gift, and should be admired by EVERYone.... I can hardly connect two lines, much less draw anything recognizable!
Most people do not have the imagination nor the talent to put it down on paper.... I'm amazed....!

MammaRay- I am glad they are figuring things out for your son, but sorry your son's doc would not listen to you. I hope they get things treated and he is feeling better soon. I also hope you are able to take care of yourself as best you can during this stressful time.

boys and balloons always make boobies! Ds2 in far left and ds1 in far right -
more laughter in our house than in a long time. Yes ! So glad dh and I sucked it up and had the party / sleepover. Gotta do it more for the boys. You can just see the stress completely melt off their faces. When only ds1 and 1 other friend was up ds1 came and woke me up on the couch to snuggle. He was very thankful. Wow that felt good. Corse he didn't stay long didn't want to be embarrassed
-
Patty- that is SO cute. Good to hear there is laughter in the house!
