That's a nice post, Claire. The earlier one, not the later one. Sometimes I think we are so scared because the only people who post their experiences are the ones who post the bad things. Thanks for posting that maybe some of it isn't so bad. We all appreciate it.

I had my lumpectomy March 3. Left breast

Even though things were explained before to me I didn't really know what to expect. Some parts were very uncomfortable. But nurses were very kind and loving. I don't remember a thing from time I was given sedation I woke up back in my room. Ready to get dressed and eat something. Went home same day. Next day was rough because had a reaction to pain med. And decided not to take it. Slept on and off that day and next day sore but fine

The worst parts are waiting for results. Thankfully it is small .08 and no cancer in nodes. It is anticipated I will have radiation and go on a drug but wIting for results from Oncotype tests. I will find out more from radiologists on April 3.

Bw49: They really don't know how big the tumor is until they do surgery. I have had so far 2.9cm (biopsy), 3.5cm (mri), 4.6 second u/s….

They say that the MRI can show shadow that makes it look bigger. But the bottom line is, in your case, BOTH numbers you are saying are very small. So, as hard as it sounds, try not to worry too much over that size thing. They will tell you the size when they do surgery. What kind of surgery are you having? Do you know yet?
