Tamoxifen and Colonoscopy

I am newly on Tamoxifen. I am having a colonoscopy next week, and read you should stop Tamoxifen if having major surgery weeks before surgery. Do you need to do the same for a colonoscopy or is just not taking it the morning of ok?

I had a colonoscopy last month, and I asked my doctor and she said there was no need to stop taking it.. I think because when you have a colonoscopy you are only having a twightlight sedation, so even though you are asleep it's not a general.anaesthetic..
