Mom was just diagnosed with IDC
Got the results today from mom's biopsy and it's positive. She was told it was IDC. They don't know if it's spreading or anything. Doctor told me after the biopsy that it was relatively small and out there on it's own. She's already contacted the cancer center of america in Atlanta Georgia, so hopefully we can come in something next week.

Iheartthegirls,
My mother was diagnosed with Invasive Well-Differentiated Ductal Carcinoma .9cm Grade 1 today. How are you coping? My mother and I are so close and I have no idea how to handle this. How is your mother doing? We are waiting on ER PR and HER2 test results. Sorry I am all over the place I just don't even know where to start. Appreciate any tips!
Thanks!

Hello CCR89 + Ihearthegirls:
I got my partial biopsy back this past Thursday. I have Stage 2 Grade 3 IDC on my right breast. Similiarly waiting for results of Receptors, which are ER PR and HER2 tomorrow, Monday, March 16. Listen, go to these sites to read up as much as you can about breast cancers. The more you know, the more you can help and give moral and physical support to your family. While I do have family, I am pretty much on my own. I discovered that knowing as much as I can help calm me down, and enable me to face my fears. I have very glad to find this forum page where all of you have who experienced the various types and stages of treatment share your experiences with each other. You are all such an amazing group....
1) This John Hopkins link tells you everything about breast cancer in an easy to understand manner that helps you understand what your Doctor is taking about and how to read and understand the terms in the various tests and reports that comes in. It includes Overview/ Symptoms and Risk Factors/ Anatomy and Physiology / Diagnosis / Staging/ Types of Cancer /Grade /ER, PR and Her2 /Treatment /Clinical Trials

2) This link from cancer.org gives a detail description of what most of everything in the summary report means. Reading this link also help me know what my own current status, and know which questions to ask my doctor tomorrow, March 16.
3) This link discusses the dosage treatment of IDC

My suggestion is that whatever the tests or scans the doctor asks, google and read up on it. Consider these part of the learning process as well.....For example, I had an ultrasound and MRI done, but the MRI done in another country weren't clear. So was told to do a mammography, before biopsy. Then the Ultrasound Dr. wanted a re-take of ultrasound, which I refused coz the Mammograpm and MRI should be sufficient for my Drs. to make some determination. After biopsy, I was given a report which was not fully explained to me. I realized it was because in the end, the extend would be seen during surgery....So I can't hardly wait for surgery...at this point, it appears I can conserve my right breast, and for which about 1/5 will be taken out, with reconstruction done. My Dr. BT informed me that Dr. VT who will be doing the reconstruction will try to make it look natural, without the dimple. My right breast will be smaller but more natural looking. I am going to ask if she can reduce my left breast by the same amount so it will look balance. I do intend to share my full experience here this week.
My friends have written and told me to focus on GETTING WELL AND SURVIVING. This tumor is NOT going to get the better of me. Like everyone else, I am going to BEAT IT and continue from where I have left off since it's discovery 3 weeks ago...
