depression?

Options

I had my double mastectomy and t.e.  put inthe end of Oct.  No chemo or radiation. On Femora.  Did good emotionally under in Jan.  Had a few weeks of feeling down. Daughter is going thru depression and trying to help her have a elderly mother with health problems. Starting to feel ooverwhelmed.  Having implants put in April.  I was on Zoloft about 3 years ago and just went off ladt spring and did ok. Is it common to feel like this after breast cancer and surgery?  What would help?

I'm sorry no one replied to you. I've heard that it is very common to have depression after all this crap. I'm in the middle of treatment myself and it's a real struggle emotionally. I've been on Zoloft for about 20 years and it's been great. If I were you, I'd see about going back on it for a while. I've also heard that anesthesia can linger in the system for longer than you'd think and it could contribute to issues like this. I don't know if that's true or not, but I found that interesting. Take care and I hope life gets better!
