Stupid comments ....

okay, I'm going to confess to being a weirdo. Any trolls out there?
A nurse once rolled her eyes when I mentioned that I was on bc.org. She probably thought I was a troll.
I have heard the term chemo lite before and not sure if there is such a thing. All I know is when the decision was made that I would do chemo, I told the doctor "let's not just pi$$ this cancer off!"

My BC nurse navigator told me the only site I was allowed to "troll" on was BC.org!
-
troll here.
Slappy, I read that comment to my husband, he said, "Some people are unbelieveably stupid". Right on.
sbelizabeth, I am surprised MDAnderson wasnt more interested in doing some genetic studies. But maybe the person answering the phone should have given you the research dept? or email the docs doing research?
-
I am donating my body to the Cleveland Clinic because I am triple negative. Maybe it will solve something!
-
Hummingbird - Good to see you again. It looks as though you're gearing up for more surgery? I hope you get to enjoy a bit of spring before then. And no, I don't think there is such a thing as 'chemo-lite.' I'm more likely to believe in Sasquatch than that.
-
Meadow, I'm involved in medical research myself, and I did my best to speak with a research assistant, or even an administrative assistant in a research department, but it just wasn't going to happen. Maybe I should have written a letter before giving up.
For those who are donating their bodies...thank you. My career has depended on studying and training on cadavers, and I've always felt a profound sense of gratitude to the people who used to inhabit them. In my experience, donated bodies are treated with respect and dignity. No matter what, you will have made a difference.
-
Slappy, "oh my aching ass" I can't believe you had to endure that comment.
-
I didn't know it was an IDC thread either!
-
OMG, I nearly choked on my tea, what was that Nurse on about, it's "Trawling" the network, not Trolling! Well at least where I am, that's what it is. An (internet) Troll is someone hanging around on a website, making a nuisance of themselves and arguing. Trawling a site is gathering information. LOL
-
yeah, like a trawler, a fishing boat using a wide net? And anyway, I can't be a troll, because I am now bald, and a particularly distinguishing feature of every troll I've ever seen is the thick mass of hair coming out of the top of it's head.
You ladies may never know the joy and laugh out loud moments I've had over the utter ridiculousness that has been perpetrated on you! Unfortunately, it also makes me so sad. Well I guess you actually all DO know!
Slappy, junk punch in order. An a-hole indeed. There's seemingly no end to the insensitivity and stupidity. Which as someone so rightly pointed out, is forever.
And so, tonight, I learn, that as brave as I've been, some people consider I'm on the Disneyland of chemo rides. TC. What bs. I have a very, VERY healthy respect for those on A. But it doesn't mean I'm joyriding, either.
I am not a troll. I'm the one on the left
-
Jackbirdie, I love your picture! Hope you are enjoying the Disneyland ride. NOT! UGH, the things people say. -
I'm doing a lot of head shaking at the stupid comments from yesterday. It's amazing to me what comes out of people's mouths! Chemo-lite? Really??? I can't understand why anyone would feel the need to undermine what any of us are going through, especially if they've been through it too.
And the "I'm a breast man myself" comment deserves a junk muti- punch! What an insensitive ass. (Junk multi-punch. That'd be a good name for a shot, wouldn't it - one shot and you're laid out on the floor)
-
Oh so true
-
"I'm a breast man, myself." I've been wringing my brain trying to think of a snappy, snarky reply to this. I'm just so gobsmacked by this comment that it's been a tough job.
Any ideas? Help me out here, girls.
-
How about "I'm a penis woman myself...hope you don't get prostate cancer".
-
Kayb.....good response.....or maybe her husband should have said, "Gosh had I known, I would have asked the doctor to save my wife's cancer ridden breasts for you...so sorry!"
And then, may I suggest that the sexist pig's mother needs a junk punch for raising such a moron.

sbelizabeth,
"Are you ok with them attached to a dead body" So snippy, I love it.
Jilly59 " I am fond of the penis...I hope you never get prostate cancer" Insanely eye opening.
There is a poster on this forum (sorry I don't remember her ID). Her husband wanted a divorce because -He isn't attracted to a woman without breasts- I didn't think of it at the time but a good come back would have been. " I am not attracted to a man without a heart". Then I would pimp slap him
-
Jackbirdie - thanks for sharing your photo. How's it going this week?
-
How about. "I am trying to see things from your point of view, but I can't get my head that far up my ass!" or a favorite "If I throw a stick will you go away?"
-
I love the latter, Ariom. It's clean but to the point.
-
Thanks for trying for us all sbelizabeth
-
Hopeful, thanks for checkin in-, things on day 7 still better than I had hoped. I felt well enough to go, and Wonder dog Jack passed his 3rd and final eval today and became an official Furry Friend Therapy dog!
I feel like I had LIFE today for a change. Not "life with cancer". What a difference!
Here is my splendid little gent after passing with a very proud and grateful me.
-
Well ladies if I ever run in to the breast man, I just want to tell him that I am a ass lady, and I am so happy to meet him! He's is one big ass! But I am sure he wouldn't be interested in me, I only have 1 boob. But I just bet the breast man could cut his foreplay time by at least 50% with just one, and I only have 1 minute to waste. Does it matter to that jerk that we could keep our rotten breast and die?? WTH!
-
Congratulations, Katy! You and Jack must be very proud! and both of you are beautiful. Well done.
By the way, your friend looks really kind and warm, too - just the sort of person you'd want by your side these past couple of weeks.
-
Jackbirdie, great pictures, and I bet you have so much fun with your furry friend!
-
Jackbirdie - glad to hear you're feeling pretty good. Congratulations to you and Jack!!
-
Excellent job, Jack!! I know you will bring a lot of cheer to the people you visit. Your picture makes me smile, so I can only imagine you in person! You put a big smile on your Mommy's face!!that "breast man" comment still gets me. I have to say, that was one of the worst.
-
Thanks everyone!! You made me smile!

I'd tell the "I'm a breast man" ass to grow his own if they're that important to him -- all he'd have to do is take some meds. Course, one of the SEs of these meds is a very significant reduction in penis size. Actually, a shrunken penis would help this jerk, he just might have to start thinking with his brain (assuming he has one) instead of thinking with his dumb dick.
Loved all the photos, Jackiebirdie, you have such a beautiful scalp!
Sbelizabeth, you've been a hero to me since I first joined BCO. Your determination as an advocate is awesome.
I love this thread, you all are incredibly funny, wise, and supportive.

Jackiebird,
Lack of hair puts focus on your lovely face and oh so kind eyes.
Thanks for sharing
