Fatty tissue in lymph nodes

I recently posted about soreness and swelling in the armpit. I have fibrocystic breasts. Have had exam by doc, mammogram, ultrasound and CT scan which revealed fatty tissue in nodes but didn't give any other explanation. Said results were negative for cancer. I am a curious person who likes to know how my body works so I have been concerned that I don't know about fatty tissue. I am wondering if any of you have had a similar situation and how you dealt with it. If anyone has had fatty tissue in the nodes did you have soreness and did it go away or is it a forever condition. Any info would be appreciated.

Apparently fatty infiltration of axillary lymph nodes is common as we age. It doesn't go away, but is harmless. I read a study on findings on lymph nodes removed during mastectomies & about 1/3 of them had some degree of fatty infiltration, unrelated to cancer status

    Hello,

I live with them bilaterally. Apparently mine turned fatty after breast inflammation of unknown cause. Even biopsied two. They are fatty are will always remain that way and I second Melisa, they get fatty as we age.

PS: It scared me for quite a while too! But I don't have soreness

Thanks MelissaDallas and Alicki for responding. I am puzzled by the soreness although I have had discomfort in that area for many years. A doctor once told me it was because I am right handed and use that arm when carrying my child or doing heavy housework. I thought that explanation was something he made up just to answer my question but who knows? It's been a very long time since I carried my child but I still have housework to do. I have started taking ibuprofen 3 times daily to see if that might help. If the soreness continues I will see my doctor but was hoping someone could put my mind at ease for now. I suppose I need to stop worrying so much but that is hard to do when I always feel the soreness. It is reassuring to know that the fatty nodes are common with aging. I certainly fit in that category! Ha. I will try to worry less today thanks to you ladies.
