Robin Roberts and hair growth product

In her wonderful segment during which she removed her wig, she mentioned a product called "Hair Fertilizer". Does anyone know anything about this product? I know "I am not my hair" as the song says, but I sure would like a little help with it.
-
For some reason, I thought she was referring to Nioxin, but I don't know how I picked that up..? Why don't you email her on the GMA website?

I assumed it was Nioxin, too, but she said the bottle said "Hair Fertilizer." That couldn't be the same thing!

hmmmmmmmmmm I googled ' Hair Fertilizer' seems this may be what Robin in using --- here's the info and a site to look at -----
Virgin Hair Fertilizer Cream
This product is from Africa and is supposed to be a miracle hair growth cream. I was talking with a guy from Nigeria who along with his wife owns a Beauty Supply store and he says they can't keep the stuff in stock. Even caucasians purchase this product. He says they are the only ones who sell it in the area (I guess to let me know the Koreans can't sell it) maybe because of their African connections.
I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this product and has tried it. I'm also told that Africans created this product because of the frequent braiding and how the process can damage the hair follicles, but they recommend this product to bring the hair back.
Here is a link to the picture of the product: http://www.africanbraids.biz/Virgin hair fertilizer 150grams

What is the name of the product Robin Roberts is using to help with hair re-growth?
-
It's called Virgin Hair Fertilizer. I ordered some (I'm gullible-will try anything) and will report back.
-
I just bought some too so I will keep you all posted! Barb

I started using it about a week ago. It's like putting vaseline on your head. I put it on at night and then put a sleeping cap over it. This is probably one of the only times it's good to sleep alone.
It smells a little like Vicks and has to be washed out every morning. I've tried and had no luck with Biotin and Nioxin. I may have to go back to wearing a wig (UGH!!)
Anyone else have any suggestions?

Amazon.com also sells this and conditioner, too.

Every one swears by Biotin and Fitchik takes 5000mg for hair growth. I had to laugh at your description of this product!!!! I will let you know if I can wash it out !!! Do you use it every night?
I am still wearing a wig although my hair is about 2 inches...I HATE how it looks!!!! Much wavier than my previous straight look!!!!
Keep us posted on how the product is working! Barb -
Hi,I sure hope you're doing well. My cousin and her daughter use Virgin Hair Fertilizer. Cousin suffered from dandruff. This product has cured it. Daughter suffered what she called dandruff which extended to her forehead (I suspect excema or some sort). Also missing hair around the edges of her head due to gluing and removing weaves. She applied the cream, which is more the consistency of vaseline, nightly, and noticed remarkable improvement in about a week's time. The hair around the edges have returned and the 'dandruff/excema' is gone! I detected a faint, not unpleasant scent and came across ur post while searching for product. I am African American, so the consistency ofproduct is no bother. We don't wash hair daily. Lose perm quickly. Give it another try? Found site: Jinnysmall.com for $3.39US. Cousin pays $8 at hair dresser's.

Just a note to say all the hair growth products are a bunch of bull. As they say in the car business, there's an ass for every seat.
-
Wow! A blast from the past. Tina - you are right. They're all a bunch of bull. I'm almost three years out now and my hair still looks like crap. I'm trying to let it get long enough so that I can get to a good stylist. However, I'm healthy so who cares about the hair?

hey,
i have been doing some research on the virgin hair fertilizer and someone said the smell is a little like glovers, would that sound right to you. I found their website. virginhairfertilizeronline.com. i dont start my chemo for another month, but want to get all that i need in advance. right now i use wild grow and it works great. i finally get my hair to a thickness and and a length that i like and now i have to have chemo.
But as a Christian He didnt bring me this far to leave me. I know that i will be a testamony for another sister going through what i am. I am curious to see what my hair texture will be. If it is like Robin Roberts, no more perms!!!!. Stay Strong, Live Long!!
